    Actually, Alex Mercer is dead, Alex Mercer was a huge dick head who destroyed an entire city for petty revenge, the virus he released formed a symbiotic relationship with his body effectively killing Alex and giving the Symbiot full control. Even the virus itself was disgusted in Alex' actions and tried to kill itself multiple times until it decided that it's for the best that it disappeared, after saving Manhattan from getting nuked.

    So what we see in the trailer is the actual Virus and not Mercer?

    Actually yeah, I hear the Dark Messiah guys and some of the Half Life 2 art team is on this. But if I know published games from bethesda, there is a small chance that this might end up like Brink or Rage.
