I already have MGS3 and HD. I'm only really missing MGS4 (Unless Portable Ops is part of the cannon). I may get a few more games on PS3. Mostly imports not in the UK, and maybe Resi 5, and I heard the resistance games are good (mainly 3)

What didn't you like about 4? I agree 2 and 3 and great, in fact 3 is my favorite game of all time, but I LOVED 4.

I don't think any single game is worth purchasing an entire system for. This isn't just exclusive to MGS4, and I even liked the game.

As you said Ico collection is a must. I would also highly recommend Demon Souls/Dark Souls (depending on how hardcore you want it, DeS is harder imo.) If you're into fighting games, they play much better on the PS3 so I might grab SSFIV Arcade/SF x Tekken.

Demon's Souls would like a word with you.

It depends on the price of the system, really. The Souls games are utter masterpieces of the action-RPG genre, but I wouldn't place down 300 dollars just for them. I need a solid lineup of titles to sell a console. Unless it's manufactured by Nintendo.

I can't stand fighting on PS2/3, I always find the Xbox controller more fluid for it, The Souls' I've heard were good, but it looks a bit too hack 'n' slashy, which puts me off. I want Ico/SotC on my PS2 anyway. Just can never find them

Demon's/Dark Souls could not be described as hack and slash in any sense of the word.

I thought the PS3 d-pad was universally thought to be better, but I guess it would vary from person to person. The Souls games are definitely not hacknslash...try playing them that way and tell me how far you get As for Ico games, why not just get them for the PS3 then? Improved camera, 1080p, readily available ~ there really is no downside.

In all honesty, if you're only going to get a PS3 for MGS4, Resistance and Resi 5 then I would say hold on to your money ~ what other sorts of games would you be interested in?

Me too, i just think that if there is any game that is worth buying a system over it's DS for sure.

    I've got SotC on PS2 which I can't play since I don't have a PS2. Interetsted? ;D

Yeah, absolutely. Still, I've understood it as the Dualshock/Sixasis not being populair, but those who actually enjoys it loves it. But I guess that depends on what forum you looks in.

Yeah, it's all just a matter of preference. I like the feel of the 360 controller, but I find the buttons, d-pad, analog sticks and triggers to be superior on the PS3. Idk, I don't mind using one or the other but I would prefer to use the PS3 controller. Not that it should sway someone in a purchasing decision though, as the differences are minimal at best.

@oxol: I'm talking strictly for fighting games, most people (myself included) from what I've heard find the 360 d-pad harder to use for pulling off moves.

Ah, you could be right there. I don't play fighting games anyway, so I can't argue on that even if I wanted to.

It's awesome while it lasts, once you finish the main campaign it's not as fun.

I actually found the guilds more fun than the main quest.

Skyrim has a large number of quests and tasks, but prepare for an equal amount of repetition and mundane activity.
