AWESOME! I guess I'm new enough that I never knew the site hosted real contests. I will try to participate. Sounds fun man.

Sweet, I've been hoping to return to my 8-Bit Mania type design for a while. I'm pretty decent at creating sprites.
    Signatures are lame.
Hence why I don't have one.
    Because I'm awesome.

Is this the first ever "official" contest? Looks interesting, I might enter.

So, the ranking is determined on Favorites, and we can submit as many boxes as we want, how does that work?

    Does it work like this:

Person 1 submits 1 box with 5 favorites.

Person 2 submits 6 boxes with 1 favorite each.

    Person 2 wins, correct?

I've never done a retro box before. I've never been too good at it, but I might give this a shot. It'll be good to break out of my comfort zone.

That wouldn't make any sense, person 1 just got screwed. It should be based on quality not quantity. It's probably the artist who posts the highest fav box wins.

I know, I hope it's not the way I put it. I'm just a little confused on how he'll have it work.

No it's based on how many favs each box gets, not by how many favs the person gets. That wouldn't make any sense. And I will be entering this.

To all the people asking this, this is not the first official contest. I know there was a Five-Colour contest at one point, and an Indie Game Competition.

This is pretty evident just looking at the official Contests page. On the right sidebar are past competitions.

Actually, yeah I agree. I think it would be really cool to see if we could get ALL modern platforms allowed (3ds, etc.)

Will there be more of these contests in the near future? Or will it be more of an annual event?
