VGBA Logo Redesign Competition VOTING Round 1

How This Will Work
First, you will vote by sending me a PM stating your TOP THREE choices for new logo by telling me which number logos you like the best (i.e. Logo #1, #3, etc.). Once we pick the top 5 logos over a span of approximately 5 days, I will count up all of the votes and then create a new thread showing the Top 5. From there, we will hold one more vote for which is the best one.

The authors of the logos will remain anonymous until the winner is chosen. The designers of the logos are encouraged to remain ANONYMOUS. This will keep the competition from becoming a popularity contest and the logos will be judged by their own merit.

Important Dates:

2/05/2012 - THE TOP 5 VOTES END
2/06/2012 - THE TOP 2 VOTES BEGIN
2/12/2012 - THE WINNER IS CHOSEN

I know! I'm so glad we got so many fantastic entries, but now we have to choose which ONE we like the best. It's a double edged sword.

I realized how incapable of achieving a Top 5 would be with only one vote each.

A lot of these are good, but for a practical website logo I only see a few that would really work, in my opinion. The most notable ones being 21, 3 and 2, but with the size restriction there's no way the subtitle could stay on as you just wouldn't see it. Number 2 looks good, but I feel 3 goes best with the current style of the site.

And or those that are curious, I didn't think the other ones would work because they need to be easily read and interpreted by site visitors. This could be a problem in logos such as 5 and 23-28. The others I felt didn't go with the style of the site, be it design or colors.

So I guess my top 3 would be 2, 21, and 3 with 3 being my overall favorite.

Rather than looking at colour, try looking at the actual logo. Colours can be changed afterwards.

I'm not really sure if I can say which logos are my favourite since I've made my own entry...

SP24 is on the money that some of these simply won't work as a logo. Without being specific, some of the entries won't scale well, and others seem to have a confusing focal point.

Mario, I know you are running the show as it were, but if I could suggest, it is plainly obvious that some of these entries are the same design but with various effects added. These should have been combined into a singular entry, in my opinion. Number 27 is a good example of how it should have been done.

Also, the number layout is a bit confusing on the first sets of entries. Perhaps a larger size font might help.

I would make the OP so much more better had the options for text editing on near the top appeared, but it's been down for me for a few days.
