Ah screw it. I'm no good at keeping secrets.

    Consider it a teaser.

Shitty guitar hero clone based on VGM, which for the record I have no intent on posting here because it was just god awful.

PHII so far has a lot of improvements. For starters, I use actual tracks instead of midis :/

I made a simple sidescroller(just a dot on a screen), thought it'd be cool to have a perk system that worked with achievements, like if you kill a 1000 guys, you get an achieve which doubles as a perk to do more damage.

Thinking of implement this to minecraft, if only I didn't suck at Java. If only.

I want to learn 3D modeling this year, but I don't know which program to use.

Some people recommended Maya, some 3DSmax.

I recommend 3Dsmax. Much easier to learn.

If you are a student you can most likely get 3DS Max for free as well, along with 3DS Max Design if you want that instead. Both great programs that are easy to use.

    Read this book.

    Listen to the author's speech.

The book is written as if the author is actually speaking to you. In the way the textbook is written, the author doesn't preach the theories of game design, but explores the theories you hold, and expands upon them if you let it. In the first chapter, if you unsure about your abilities, you will be inspired after reading this.

You don't need any prior technical experience, like programming, when reading the book. Regardless of what type of job you plan to partake in the industry, it's written to make it accessible to anyone interested in the gaming industry. It's a fantastic investment.

I'm starting a project right now in the Ren'Py engine, because choose your own adventure books are AWESOME!!! I'm brain storming some ideas now, and I'll take any recommendations I can get.

Finished learning the basics of Unity, and now starting my first 3D prototype that I'll be designing on my own.

It's amazing how diverse Unity is. I've been playing around with it some myself and it's a great program capable of a lot.

Alrighty, so I've finalized an idea for my final project for this semester. It's not going to be an actual game that will be published, but rather a prototype of a game mechanic since I don't have the traditionally artistic talent necessary to create my own concept art or models, nor do I have the time to find an artist that can. I'm practically going to be using public domain models, which may or may not be rigged, certainly saves time if they are.

As of now, I'm not going to give much away of what the game is going to be like, but I'm planning it to be a 3D game that will be played as a sidescroller, a 2.5D game more or less. Like I said in my last post, it will be designed in Unity3D, and barring through any catastrophic mishaps that may or may not hamper my progress, or my health, I'm looking at a late May deadline.

Also the majority of the scripts are going to be coded in C# and JavaScript, depending on if I want to take the easy way out of things, or a more broad approach.

I made a mario game once in visual basic. It sucked. Right now, I'm learning java and plan to learn c++ in a couple of months.

iOS and Android development kits for Unity3D are free until April 8th.

Even if you're not proficient with Unity's interface, but still have an interest in designing games, it's a good investment to not pass up.

Oh man thank you for that, this surely will come in handy one day.
