Here are a few points I hope all entrants keep in mind.
1. Image scaling. This is imperative for a logo to scale properly, for it may be used as a thumbnail image or tiny icon all the way to a large scale poster. As I am not sure what all media types the logo may end up on , you still want to make sure your entry is scalable without loss of integrity.
2. A logo is about branding and identity, not about being the flashiest thing since sliced neon lighting. Get the overall style down before you worry about the colors.
3. Nothing happens overnight. You know all those killer logos like the Nike swish or the FedEx logo? I'd bet those took some serious time and effort to create. Nothing is ever as easy or as simple as it seems.
Submitted one. I have a 0% chance of winning but I had some spare time
I'll attempt one
I am still considering a go at this. I just finished a marathon design, so my eyes are a bit worn out.
^ Me too. I hope he gets this resolved or else extends the deadline.
I'm sorry, I meant to say I'm making a logo to represent the competition (which is basically the logo that is in my sig and in the OP right now.) And even if I was creating a logo for the competition, since this is open to everyone and people will vote for the best logo anonymously, no one would be able to tell which one was my logo anyway. Thus either way, it doesn't matter.
