It's been awhile that's for sure Ol' Drak has been super busy with things, but VGBA has remained in my heart and thoughts despite my actual presence around here.
As I've told a few of the members who I've spoken with outside of the site, I expect to have things squared away enough to become more active around here after the new year. With that, I'd definitley be up for contributing something.

Really the point of KickStart was quality, that's why members were picked invitation only, not volunteered...But I'll attend this one, it's been a lot time since my last box.

Elitist much? The only reason we invited them last year was because Xcore was going to throw a hissy fit if we didn't. Hell, he only suggested that we not invite members after 2008 and only get the oldest members.

Oh and the point of Kickstart was to make the site alive again. To KICKSTART the year. The description says otherwise, yes. But Koopa's intention was to bring life to it again and We had the intention of inviting almost everyone. If you have a problem with that, please, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I'm not being argumentative or rude, just stating a point. The last Kickstart was invitation only for many reasons, so this will not be the same. But like I said, I'll still participate.

He's not being elitist. It's just a fact that members with more experience are just naturally better at making boxarts. And the point of Kickstart last year was to surprise the site with some top notch work again by some of the old veterans. It was fun and was a success. But we all decided that next year we would open it up to everyone so that more could participate. Kickstart is serving a different purpose this time around.

Wow, I really must express my awe and amazement at how you guys are running this...I've never seen something like this before on a forum! And I have only known about this site for 2 weeks so these things must have gone on for years and years! I hope I can hone my skills enough to compete with the best on here in the future, but for now I can only offer my most heartfelt support for this (and other competition like Stevencho's Competition and Christmas Competition) and I wish you guys all the best luck!!!

I know I must sound like an overzealous little kid and you all must think I'm a freak now, but this is seriously so cool. You guys even give prizes? Damn i wish more people knew about this site.

I was about to say the same thing as him. I'm so hyped to see that box finished. I won't say with certainty that I'm submitting something but I'd certainly like to if I come up with something worth posting.
