Default GEARS OF WAR 3 Work in Progress!~~~

This box is far from finished. Still have a lot to do as you can see. The look kinda came to me randomly. but with the lack of resources, I was unable to execute it, like it was in my head. The main thing was the posterized look.

    FRONT:
The background as simple as it is, to me, suits it... But It bothers me at the same time. I just don't know why. Now the I must say I love the posterized effect on the "Gears of War 3" logo, and how it matches with Marcus. I DO plan to add more the the front, weather its more characters, or objects of some sort.

BACK: The back, as you can see, isn't really even started. The background for the back is the same radial white to gray gradient. I'm not sure weather to continue the posterized pattern on the back side, like the front has.

Tell me what you think. I'm very open to ANY ideas you have. AND ANY feedback! Thank You. Much Appreciated!

The posterized effect on Marcus looks good, but I don't think the posterized effect on the Gears title treatment is all that good. The way you have it placed, the "G" doesn't look posterized, it just looks like a white "G." Which throws off your total concept.

Also, I think the Radial Blur is too concentrated in the middle of the spine. I actually didn't notice it until I read your post. But, in all honesty I think this posterized, black and white effect would look a lot better with just a white background with some nice red type.

Hope to see more from this, Gears is the best.

    UPDATE:

Haha, the whole time I was calling it the "posterized" effect. It's actually the "Threshold" effect. My bad.

    The Box:

    Changes:
    Marcus Render

    Gears of War 3 Logo

Background, is now just plain white.

    Additions:

    Dominic Render on back

    Anya Render on back

    Myrrah Render on front

EPIC GAMES logo on front(Custom made by me)

Microsoft Game Studios logo on front

And thats it. Tell me how it looks right now, and what needs to be changed/added. Thanks. ANY FEEDBACK IS WELCOMED.

Nice man, I like the changes that you have made. The "Threshold" effect looks good with that red. The front looks about complete, the space above Myrrah looks a bit empty though. I would do something to activate that space.

Also, haha...make sure your Marcus art doesn't bleed off the template. LOL

Can't wait to see what you do with the back.

Thanks Man. Really appreciate it. I have no Idea what to put on that space above Myrrah though. Any ideas?

The filters on this make the renders look almost unrecognizable.

You think so? Maybe on Marcus... But it's a different approach, and in my opinion, I think it's okay, if it does. I can still tell it's them.

Idk I think it just makes it look really bad, no offense. Not only the filter, but the renders are all cut off in strange places and oddly placed.

No. You're right. You made me think about it, and You're absolutely right. It's just to difficult to work with it. So just scratch this? Or is there anyway to fix this?

I say you scrap this. The idea was terrible to begin with and looks horrible too.

I'm sorry but there's not much more that I can say. The effect you've used on pretty much the whole box looks horrible. I would scrap or start over.
