I find Sonic childish but on an aesthetic level these are without a doubt amazing.

I know what you feel. If you did not really grow up playing Sonic games, you don't feel the same about them. Sonic 2 was the first game I ever played, so I guess the blue blur will remain something special

Any way you can make more like the Generations Green Hill Zone one, but with the other zones? Maybe in wallpaper size too?
