Stevencho's Mini Competition #1: Remakes! Win a prize!

Welcome everyone to the very first of Stevencho's Mini-Competitions! If you haven't heard already, to help invigorate the site, each month I will be hosting a Mini-Competition that consists of only one round and is open to everyone! There will also be the opportunity of winning a prize each month as well! So let's begin with the competition.

For the month of December I have chosen the round to be Remakes! There have been a lot of Sonic remakes going around lately but think of all the many other retro games out there that could get a modern makeover. You can choose to mimic the old box but give it a modern twist or you can choose to update the overall design of the box as well. This is a pretty open round so feel free to push the boundaries. Simply have the idea of remaking the older game's cover as if it were designed today. So here are the only rules for this Mini-Competition:

1) The game you are remaking must be at least 10 years old.
2) Using newer artwork from a newer game from the same franchise is allowed.
3) Using custom artwork is both allowed and encouraged.
4) All boxes must be submitted to the main site by Monday, December 19th, 2011 12:00 PST (that's Sunday night) to be eligible for the prize.
5) All boxes must be tagged with MiniComp1 in order to be eligible for the prize.
6) The winner of the competition and the one who will receive the prize will be the member that has the most amount of points by favs by the end of the month: Sunday, Janurary 1st, 2012 12:00 PST (that's Saturday night.)

I tried to make this first round as open to everyone as possible. And unfortunately I will not be able to give away such an expensive prize each month so consider this first round to be very special.

That's more than understandable. It's a suitably grandiose gesture with which to kick off the competitions though, and fitting of the theme as you're obviously already aware.

If I weren't creatively bankrupt, I might take a shot at this.

Yes if the price to ship is reasonable. I believe you are in the UK if I remember correctly so it shouldn't be a problem. If there is a problem with shipping I will discuss privately with the winner some alternatives I can provide.

It can be if you would like. After the competition is over I will discuss with the winner which system they would like and how they would prefer to receive their prize.

Yes most of the future prizes will be in the $5-$15 range. But I wanted to start this event off with a bang. And hey, it would always make an awesome present for someone. I'd enter anyway. Who knows how good your competition might be.

This is my first competition, and my first real "professional" box all in one!
