I remember the first time I watched it, I had watched it in one long shot up to the last two episodes, but personal reasons made me have to stop. I've never experienced such a stressful and paranoid period like the one between the ending of that episode and when I started watching it again the next day; it was like nothing mattered anymore. I just needed to finish it, it became an unhealthy obsession.

Based on the very little knowledge I have, it doesn't seem THAT bad.

It's one of the best anime you'll ever see, but it's gets so deranged at times, that is hard to forget.

I'd rather not get wrapped up in another anime. Not again. O_O

Yeah the show is pretty darn deep for an anime and can get you hooked pretty fast. i personally don't consider it a "masterpiece" like a lot of people do but it's an important piece of "art" that every anime fan should watch. i honestly felt like the director was definitely struggling with some sort of depression towards the end of the series and when he made the movie (aka the real ending), i have never seen so many disgusting visceral and explicit sexual images that almost made me want to throw up. (Spoilers For End of Evangelion Film) the main character masturbating to his friend who is in a coma, rei becoming a giant being and wrecking havoc on the world, watching the red haired girl (i forgot her name) being torn to shreds in her mech suit and then cannibalized (this is easily the worst scene in the series and was so hard to site through especially since she was one of the main characters. ), i could go on and on. if you watched the End of Evangelion that's pretty much the seal on the series. i felt so depressed after finishing the series and the film. i just don't understand how such horrible things can come out of a healthy person, yes he received death letters from the fans but he went too far with the film. I'm keeping my eye on the reboot atm and it's alright so far, if they manage to finish it properly this time then i might watch it since i don't feel like the series has been done justice with End of Evangelion.

I personally consider "Monster" to be superior to it in every way, mainly because it dealt with mature themes without disgusting the viewer and giving us the middle finger. i suggest you check out "Monster" as i feel it touched on a lot of sensitive subjects and really changed how i normally view serial killers.

This or Third Impact wouldn't be a bad way to go, I guess. As long as I can listen to REM a couple times first.

But my serious entry would be:
There's a rich genius weapons manufacturer selling some exclusive missiles to the US Army somewhere in the Middle East, he gets shot and kidnapped and whilst being hooked up to a car battery extended to a magnet to keep the bullet out of his heart he'll has to invent something that doesn't run out of power.. Apparently the genius ain't that much of a genius and blows up the planet.. The End.

Goku and Superman will fight to the death to decide who gets to protect Earth. Ironically, they will destroy it in the process.
