    Default Help needed.

Hey guys! I haven't used photoshop in awhile and have become a little rusty. How would I go about achieving the same kind of effect as this wallpaper? The scan lines, color gradient, and the 3Dish effect.

    Thankyou in advance!

Scanlines are done by using a rectangle shaped how you want with a Vertical/Horrizontal line fill, then use Multiply/Screen to remove the unwanted colours and then fade the image slightly. The colour can be acheived by selecting multiple layers of the same image. One in grey-scale, the other with the levels changed to promote the desired colour. then use multiply/screen to remove the unneeded aspects and to make it blend well

The 3D effect is from is done by using a Gaussian blur. Duplicate your final image layer, Gaussian blur the top one, then use the eraser tool with a soft edge to erase the centre and it should give you a similar effect as tot he one in the picture you've provided.

Thanks! Unknown is a really great film, you have to watch it.

I agree, I should have used the horizontal scanlines.
But I wanted the scanlines to contour his face like on the tron wallpaper. I think I'd have to manually contour/curve the scanlines with the liquify tool so they match the curvature of the face.

The thing that really frustrates me is getting the colors to match the tron wallpaper. I know that it doesn't have to be exact but I really want it look the same.
I also think that I should have started off with an image that wasn't already colored.(but that's besides the point)

That looks awesome. It gives off a kinda non-existent feel to him. Great job!
