Will work great as a mod manager until (If?) Notch adds a proprietary one to the game. Not for 1.8 though, just 1.7.3.
Notch wants to add in something like Garry's Mod Toybox into his game so you d/l and install mods in game.

He wants to add way too much things to this game, although he never takes time to add them.
    His "to-do-list" is just growing.

Oh, and by the way, it just sold 4 million copies.

This is something that actually needs to be in the game though. If it's anything like Oblivion Mod Manager then it would make modding Minecraft so easy and you wouldn't have any conflicting mod files. For me, Minecraft needs 2 things: An in-game mod manager and a much better server. Maybe something like Bukkit (Or just merge the vanilla server with Bukkit) with a permissions and admin GUI.

Actually they said the full release will have a official modding API and notch said something similar might happen for modding.

I don't care much for mods myself, but they definatly need to fix how the servers works.

He has said way too much about what will be added when to have my trust, although I'll have to believe him and you if he said this not too long ago, seeing how soon the release is.
I've simply not heard anything about the modding support for long myself. But I'm not as well informed on MC news as you are.
Nice to hear he still bothers to do things he planned for months ago.
At least I lives where he used to live ;P

The minecraft community is the most insufferable and entitled group of fucktards I have ever seen.

It is, it's more of a recommendation to Notch.

I love the sound of that Enderman.

Also, 1.9PR6 has been released. Will post more info + DL link in a few.

Apparently Mojang is at 1.0Release Candidate 2, and it is said Notch said this will be the final pre version.

    EDIT: Found 1.0RC2. http://www.minecraftforum.net/news/3...t-for-testing/

Sadly I have no links yet, here is pre6 changelog.
    credits.txt, earlyplayers.txt and win.txt added to /title/ in minecraft.jar.
Attempting to sleep in a Bed while hostile mobs are nearby will display the message: "You may not rest now, there are monsters nearby"
Crafting tables can now be mined faster with an axe.
    Added ending titles.
Mined stairs of any materials will drop a stair block now instead of a block form of its material.
Added "Particles" setting in Video Settings. Has three possible states: "All", rendering all particle effects, "Decreased", rendering half of all particle effects, and "Minimal", rendering no particle effects.
Added Dragon Egg; currently seems to serve no practical purpose, however.
Changes to the mining time of many minerals, including red stone ore, stone brick, nether brick, iron bars, iron door, mob spawners, and obsidian, making their mining times much faster.
'Efficiency' effect on pickaxes now affects all applicable materials, including obsidian, nether brick, etc.
Tools not suited to digging a certain block can be faster than digging by hand, e.g. a pickaxe can dig dirt faster than by hand, but not faster than by shovel.
More minor changes to textures, this time to:
Side texture of Grass, adhering to dirt texture change in previous pre-release
    Sand
Additionally, the Sun and Moon have square textures again. The phases of the Moon are also square.
    More finished Enderdragon boss fight.
"Boss Health" Meter appears on the middle top part of the screen in the same purple hue as the Enderdragon.
Leaves behind a fountain like bedrock structure with the Enderdragon Egg sitting on top and has another Ender Portal to return to the players spawn point/ bed.
Ender Crystal added, an object which sits atop of a bedrock block that is diamond shaped that has 2 squares spinning on their axis with a point at the center that fires a healing beam at the Enderdragon when within range, and can be destroyed with a melee or hit with an arrow, causing an explosion. They appear on all the Obsidian Spikes in The End.
The explosion caused by Ghast Fireballs seems to have a new sound effect(?)
    Bug Fixes:
Shooting arrows, using items and hitting mobs no longer uses up items/durability in creative.
Lily Pads are now a solid block.
Ferns, Tall Grass and Lily Pads are now available in the creative inventory.
Unnecessary block versions of Cake and Sugar Cane removed from creative inventory.
Enchantment Tables now take time to mine, instead of one punch.
"Mods and Texture Packs" changed to "Texture Packs".
Repeater clocks no longer get stuck when unloading the chunk.
Placing fences under farmland doesn't stop it from turning back into dirt.
Minecart with Furnace is able to push empty Minecart at any direction. Texture rotates wrong, though.
Baby Sheep from dyed parents are now born dyed as well instead of white.
    Notable Bugs: (Complete bug list)
Armor durability seems to be back to being much tougher, akin to 1.8.
Wooden doors cannot be opened directly by clicking.
You lose all experience levels/points after the credits.
Snow Biomes do not generate properly
Redstone Signals can no longer be pushed through glowstone using a repeater. (This is due to glowstone now being considered a transparent block.)
While in F5 Mode, Lilypads will appear grey.
The "Particles" option in Video Settings overlaps the warning when playing on far render distance with 32-bit java.
    And RC2's (RC1 was only for pre6 bug-fixes):
You can now talk while entering a portal in SMP
Blocks have a shadow effect in the inventory sprite
New sound effects/usage of previously unused sound effects
    Arrow Sounds
    Firing Sound Changed
    Hit Sound
    Chest Opening and Closing
Door, Wooden and Iron, Opening and Closing
EXP Orbs make a Twinkling Sound when collected.
    Fence Gate Opening and Closing
    Mob Sounds
    Blaze Sounds (Ambient Breathing Noise)
    Creeper (Explosion sounds more realistic)
Enderman (Idle sounds are vaguely similar to the Zombie Pigmen sound effects, except the sounds for taking damage which are strange grunts)
Enderman Teleportation Sound (Shortened Version of the Nether Portal Sound)
Enderman Staring Sound (Increasing volume, a mix of White Noise, Growling, and the sound produced when Blowing into a Microphone)
    Magma Cube Sounds
    Silverfish Sounds
    Player Sounds
Damage to Player noise changed to a "Stab-Like" sound
    Drinking Sounds for Potions
    Eating Sounds
Fall Damage now has a Different Sound (A sort of bone-breaking sound)
    TNT and Various Other Explosions
    Tool Breaking Noise
Added "Quit Game" button to the main menu.
Changed redstone wire placement on one block from the "+" to a "•" shape.
Bows now have a durability bar.
Bows can be fired without having Arrows in Creative mode.
Thrown Eggs now hatch Baby Chickens.
Obsidian's mining time was increased to 8 seconds from ~3 seconds in 1.9pre6.
    Bug Fixes
Fixed the bug that causes All Tools to break after loading an old map from Minecraft 1.0RC1
The "Particles" option no longer overlaps the warning when playing on far render distance with 32-bit .
Fixed the bug that caused the players EXP level to revert to 0 again after The End credits is finished from Beta 1.9Pre 6
    Notable Bugs: (Complete bug list)
Portals have the old, non-smooth lighting prior to Beta 1.8.
Seeds around water will randomly disappear.
Fishing rods will get damage in creative mode.
Heart animation won't appear in breeding mode
Fence gate's hitbox still occupies the whole cube.
Opening double (wooden) doors by hand is acting weird. Most of the time you're not opening/closing the door you clicked on (tested in creative).
Same problem in survival, pressing the left door (once) will open the right. Then the next time you press, it will open the left. It is also impossible to close the right door first. Probably because if you double click on the left door it opens both doors, making double doors easier to handle without redstone.
You can destroy glowstone without a pickaxe.
Rails can't be switched by near redstone torch, 1 block should be skipped and place torch there (applies even vertically).

The credits make it feel like minecraft is finished now. I am proud that I had the opportunity to beta test this wonderful game.

Sound-wise, I love the sound when you pick up XP orbs, and the sound of the arrow hitting the ground, however I hate the new creeper sound (but the flash is nice) and the sound of launching arrows, whether from you or skeletons.

I am proud I had the opportunity to see this game rise from being a simple Virtual Lego game to a full-fledged Adventure game.
