Someone suggested to call the Update "The Ender Scrolls: Sky Realm" on Reddit and now they are rolling with it as the unofficial name, haha.

Pictures of "The End"
Shit is about to get biblical.
Someone found possible textures:
This is probably the sky texture of Ender:

And the bottom right is probably the new floor block:

1.9 is turning out bigger than I expected, I wonder if Enderman are going to stay on Minecraft earth.
MINECRAFT POCKET EDITION IS NOW OUT!!!a
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! FINALLY.
Although I don't see it on my market, I'll get it from the web version.
EDIT: first impressions on Droid X, fancy graphics were turned off by default, but my single core ran very well with it, the game is pretty much MC classic: no redstones, no mobs, no caves, just build. The camera movement was sloppy at first (not low FPS, but actual camera issues) but it works now. I nice bonus feature I like is the search button allows third person view, and does more in the pocket version then the PC/Mac/Linux version, making you placing and destroying panoramic, also there seems to be pocket MP, but I found no games (matchmaking it seems). I hope Mojang allows ME login soon, as I'm not going to pay an extra $7. Also skin change and diagonal movement is wanted.
EDIT 2: Screenshots from my phone (taken from another app, not ME):
Shot of first arriving in new world
Showing fancy graphics, along with 3rd person (no shadows on person unlike PC version)
Inventory (not fully unlocked in demo [some wools, mushrooms, etc.)

Quick build (also sand doesn't fall down):
EDIT 3: another shot of the enderdragon

I'm sure almost no one cares but this is the items.png in the Pocket Edition
That last item, a camera that not in the game itself but is there, probably for in game shots but who nowr right now.
Assembled:
I can't remember where I read it, but it will very tall 1x1 glass tiles indicating them.
Jeb was playing Minecraft live on Hardcore mode. Here's what I got, I'll show you more screen grabs when I get some.
A Fair way to get apples, Eyes of Ender guide you to stronghold, new crystal texture.
Oh and he didn't go into the End. Bastard killed himself after opening the portal just to mess with us.
Here's the recorded stream: http://www.twitch.tv/jebox/b/297005751
Highlight reel, if ya'll lazy to watch 40mins.

That enderportal is some clever shit. What happened to the original glass-ice looking portal thing?
Test block. Probably be going to be an ender material.
I want some form of "endgame" scenario when you open the portal.
Like, you open it and the overworld changes and gets harder and such. Like, terrain generation changes (and maybe even some chunks that are unused by the player get changed), mobs get harder but drop more stuff (namely rare potion ingredients that aren't possible to get pre-portal open), stuff like ghasts start appearing on the surface very rarely. Nights go for longer and such. Maybe all the dungeon chests (if they're still there) either get refilled or the loot inside them changed for more high-end loot (maybe loot that, once again, isnt possible to get pre-portal open)
Eh, just a thought.
So I just realized Pre 4 is out

List of changes:
2011
New Realm: The End
It is currently a one-way trip to venture into, as the only way to get out is with death.
Glistering Melon
Enchantments
The Sun and Moon have been refined and no longer appear square.
The Sun and Moon now rise in the east and set in the west, based on the top of maps being North.
Flowers now grow randomly around the world like grass on dirt.
Strongholds are slightly larger and have a New Room where you find a Portal to the End
Strongholds have more Chests
Splash potions with Area of Effect when thrown, created by brewing an existing potion with gunpowder.
Implemented a swirl effect while under a buff.
Ghast Tears now cause regeneration and not instant health when brewed into a potion.
Glistering Melons cause instant health when brewed into a potion
Bug Fixes:
Smooth-mouse control via F8 has been restored.
Enchanting now works in multiplayer.
Shift click crashes in enchanting table and brewing stand now fixed.
Critical hits fixed in smp.
Notable Bugs: (Complete bug list)
Shooting a sheep with a bow crashes the game
New swirl effects don't show up in 3rd person front facing mode.
Ferns still do no spawn in any biome.
Eye of Ender doesn't always point to the nearest stronghold.
Melons drop just one slice[1]
Arrows shot with a fully charged bow into Enderman in The End will cause the game to crash. This breaks the world
A world called "Untitledworld" may appear automatically in the game. This world is completely filled with blocks, and you spawn at level 128. Grass blocks are the only visible block, but down several layers there is a completely flat layer of smoothstone.
The block palette UI is missing from the regular game screen after pressing F5 to cycle the third person views. The UI is missing but dimmed as usual when the inventory is visible.
According to Enchantments, Fortune seems to work only if the block would drop a different item type upon being mined; Fortune works for only coal, lapis lazuli and diamond ore.
