Default 1st Annual VGBA Cup - Finale

Here we go, folks. It's the end of the road...for now:

Description: Make a box for any game you choose. The twist? You can't include any developer logos, description text or legal info. Covey your artwork without the help of text to aid you. Having the game logo and a simple tagline is fine, but absolutely no other text allowed.
    Platforms: Any generation goes!
    --->Due Date: Thursday, September 1st, 2011 AT 11:59pm EST <---
    TAG: vgba11r5

Boxes will be judged by our secret panel. Leaderboard will be posted on Saturday, September 3rd, 2011. There will be five judges this round, so a maximum of 125 points (as opposed to the usual 75) may be awarded this round.

Time to give it your all, people! This is the last round so really make this box something special!

    -Flexx

FINAL NOTE: Submit the boxes directly to me via PM; you may post your boxes starting September 2nd, 2011.

    Judging Criteria
Aesthetics: Does your box look genuinely pleasing to the eye, or is it just a jumbled mess of filters and images? (out of 10)
Attention to Theme: Does the overall design of your box suffer from a lack of text, or does it implement other design aspects in order to overcome the "traditional" expectations of what a boxart must be? (out of 5)
Creativity: Does your box use the same old tired layouts and filters, or does it have a bold and unique design? (out of 5)
Presentation: Does your presentation compliment, or detract from your overall design? (out of 5)

Oh man, Masloff is gonna LOVE this round. I'm also happy with it, and can't wait to get crackin' on my box, whenever I get the perfect idea that is.

Screenshots are okay if we make them work? Not saying I will, but just want to leave the option open

Me and Poppins had the doubt if other than video game boxes were allowed, like music or misc ones.
Interesting theme, nevertheless, though I actually love crowded designs, even more on the backs.

This round was made for me. In fact, I'm already 90% done with another box I was working on that fits into this round perfectly.

Quick question, are we allowed to use logos to identify what console the game is on? Like the Playstation symbol?

Logos are perfectly fine, but no text. Ex. you can have a PS symbol to represent the game, but don't physically have "PLAYSTATION 3" on the box.

Alright, that's fine. Actually that's what I usually do.

Started and finished mine last night. Took around 3 hours, and it is probably my favorite I've entered for this competition.

I knew you were going to say that, since this type of box is what you like doing best.

On the round. I'm going to try to make something too. I obviously can't turn it in for points, but I like the theme, and my birthday is the day after the due date, so I'm doing it for myself. No idea what I'll do, though.

    I just submitted my box.

I'm pretty happy with it, considering that I didn't have too much time due to school.
