    Default Dancing

I'm guessing this won't be a topic too popular on a forum filled with mainly gamers lol :P But whatever.

So I REALLY suck at dancing. I've started learning from YouTube and stuff though and I'm dedicated to getting really good, mainly in breakdancing / bboying.

So, this thread is just anything dancing related. Like a general discussion about it I guess. Are you guys good at dancing? Are you guys awkward about dancing? What kinda dances do you know? Anyone have any tips on a specific move? Any cool videos of awesome dancers?

Just anything dance really :P Are there any bboyers out there in VGBA, cause I really need some help.

I don't think I've ever danced. Not once.

I'm a good dancer. I mostly just jerk, south dallas swagg, etc. Stuff like that.

(I think you can relate to this Yoshi)

At Diwali parties, I would be forced to do cultural Indian dances in front of hundreds of people. To be honest, I was actually quite good :/

I also slow danced once with a girl I known forever, and it was the last time I was going to see her. PRETTY ROMANTIC.

All of my dances are awkward.

I try to avoid it at all costs. the best way you can force me to dance is if i have a cockroach on me.
OBVIOUSLY THE REAL REASON WHY VGBA IS STILL ALIVE.

Oh, just saw that you were looking for bboys. At your service, sir. Been dancing about 5 year so I have a decent amount of experience.

Bobbing my head, swaying back and forth; that's basically the way I "dance."

I hate dancing. Every time I go to a dance part I just sit in the corner.

Sweet! Okay, so I'm starting with toprock stuff first. And so far so good. I also wanna learn how to do waves and all that though. I've tried so much, but I can't do a proper arm wave. The first step with the wrist is fine, but I don't get what people are doing with their elbows for the second part. They say to move it up while leaving your wrist in the same place, but I see the hand get flat again and stuff. It's kinda hard to explain over typing .. but I just don't get the elbow part. :S

Do you know how to lock yet? The wave was one of the first moves I tried, but it's a lot harder to pull off if you can't lock properly (and if you're locking you might as well learn how to pop as well.)

To make a smooth transition from wrist to elbow, I'd suggest practicing "finger waves." Pretty much just do waves with your fingers...it's incredibly easy, but if you do it about 50 times before practicing it makes things a lot easier.

And you're right, this is hard to explain over text :/

0:47...Mike Song, one of the best lockers out there. Watch that ad nauseum, it helped me loads.
