Nothing I can do about it, that site steals from people from thecoverproject all the time. Since no one actually owns the aretwork, they get away with it.

You should go to the companies that actually own the artwork and try to get them to shut that site down.

    Hello there!

Long time I did not posted, I know, I'm sorry. Too busy with my new life, new work. Too much to learn, too much work, too much to do, not enough hours in a week. Anyway.

I've just bought Trine 2 for Sale on Steam (3,75$ what a joke) when I've searched pictures to make a cd cover for my DVD cover. I then have a shock to recognize my Trine 2 box I did last year by accident on this site. They changed the ESRB and PC logo for european rating and the Mac logo but it is clearly mine: the lightning effect on the Trine 2 logo is the one I've spent an hour to do. Then I made a search on my box picture and got the surprise it was ripped off many times. Tons of site, mostly pirates one, but one in particular: Cover Palace.

I don't know what to think, especially Cover Palace. They asking to register to download it, when it is free here. What do you think?

You put a watermark stating not to repost it, contact them and try to have them take it down.

    My lollipop chainsaw boxart: http://www.getcovers.net/2012/04/lollipop-chainsaw-pal/

Whoever stole that one from me is obviously no designer, matched a front with the exact same picture I used on the back. Also according to Throavium, a ton of people have stolen this back from me.

Yep, if you post printables at all on this website or other popular cover websites, your work is scattered all over the internet by now, whether credited, uncredited, ripped, or whatever. It's a part of the process at this point.

They were even kind enough to erase my name and email off the back. : )

Thanks for you comments. I contacted them a week ago, and guess what? The boxes are not only still in place, but they never dared to answer me back. Do you think there is anything I can do?

    Well,

U can try putting certain "watermarks" in different spots on the image so just YOU know what they are. Post ur images on deviantart and use CreativeCommons. U might have the shot. But u know, dats da beauty on innernet... so kinda gatta deal with dat... sad unfortunately.

I have addressed the situation through email, and pourmac replied back. Here's the convorsation:

Me:Greetings, I am here on behalf of vgboxart.com. One of our members (Username 'Abrao') had his artwork stolen from him and put up for retail on your website. Here is a link, and proof of the boxart: http://vgboxart.com/view/44248/trine-2-cover/

He posted this artwork before you posted it to your site, and posted a watermark specifically stating not to repost his artwork on any domain, and you violated the described wishes. Now, unless you are giving him part of the profit earned from this sale, I have to ask you to take this down. If it is not, charges may be pressed.

Please, if you have anything to say, email me back at ronthistw@gmail.com. Have a nice day.
    They replied:
    camille@zokkus.com:Hello Ronthis,

    M. Abrao must be mistaken. The graphic guy who did the page does not work for us anymore but her's what I see:

    - His design is just made out a wallpaper + logo
    - His design has a white light effect on the top left corner that does not exist on ours (Check the color codes)
    - His design is in 3D box, ours is 2D
    - His watermark cuts de top right corner and the logo. ours does not.

Check the color codes from the 2 upper part boxes. It's seems pretty obvious to me that we did not "steal" your box.

You also state that we have posted our artwork after you… How would you know this ? It's been online for a very long time now.

I really appreciate that in the future you would not write down that we "steal" things or ask us to give part of our profit to some random person who does not give his name.

I'm also not very happy to answer to an e-mail @gmail.com and not @vgboxart.com. It seems very unprofessional to me.
    I then replied:
Me:I'm sorry, there is no mistake. You see, on our site, under the box image, there is a nifty little button that says "Download Printable". This will download a 2D version of the box. Thus, proving all your points wrong. And I honestly do not care what his art is, his watermark states not to steal his box without permission, which you did, and, worst of all, you resold it.

And I have been on your site many times, as I am a cover art enthusiast. My memory is pretty faint, but I believe it was posted to your site sometime around December 2011.

As for my email, I am not the creator of VGBoxart. Our creator, and administrator, has been gone for some time now. I was simply the first to address the situation, and I used my personal email.

So here we go again, please take the artwork down.

Also, why don't you have a look at this while you are at it http://vgboxart.com/forums/showthrea...523#post540523

So, there you have it. I have not gotten another response as of now, but this will probably be taken care of.

So it's been 10 days since I sent that last email and they still haven't responded or taken down the artwork. I'm jabbing at them one more time.
