Default 1st Annual VGBA Cup - Leaderboard

Here we go, guys! All competitors can view their progress here. The top bar represents points gained for the specific round, while the bottom bar represents the total points collected to date. The bottom bar will change as time goes by, obviously.

    ROUND 1
    ROUND 2
    ROUND 3

    ROUND 4
KEEP IN MIND THAT THE TOP SCORE IS YOUR ROUND SCORE (out of 75) WHILE THE BOTTOM SCORE IS YOUR OVERALL SCORE (out of 300.) CONTESTANTS ARE ORDERED BY THEIR SCORE IN ROUND 4, NOT THE OVERALL SCORE.

    OVERALL RANKING
    1st: Manuel_Alejandro
    2nd: Titan38
    3rd: Masloff
    4th: Silent Oblivion
    5th: qwerty334
    6th: Pan
    7th: Magical
    8th: TheSlyder
    9th: Daemon
    10th: billyman31
    11th: PoppinsDEBO

Holy shit... dude, I know at least everyone in the Top 5 did better than I did... I don't deserve that much praise... but thank you to the Judges for thinking so highly of my box.

Honestly, after seeing the submissions, I didn't even think I would be in the Top 10...

Wow, I did not expect to place so highly! I never thought I would even have a chance of beating any of the higher ranked competitors, so to get such a high score is a real honour. Thank you!

Congratulations to everyone else as well, this competition produced some of the best boxes seen on the site in a while.

    Two perfect scores say otherwise.

Congrats to everyone! Round 2 has been posted.

Did worse than I expected. I guess if I want to be a contender, I gotta work harder.

I think it should be noted that the amount of space the bar takes up isn't 100% representational of the percent you received. The main point is to look at your placement and the numbers in the bracket Tied spots were arranged according to alphabetical order.

I appreciate the scores, but I don't think I deserve them. I could point out numerous flaws in the design, and while I was happy with it, it's far from the work I could have done in my prime. Qwerty's design is so much better than mine... he should have taken the top spot.

The judging for this round was a bit unorganized, so unfortunately I have deleted the breakdown for everyone's marks. However, the rest of the competition will go much more smoothly, so you'll get all the comments from here on out

I'm certainly not saying this to ruffle feathers, or even as a formal complaint, but more or less as a subject of conversation, but I agree. I think yours was really good, but I'm not sure I would call it "perfect score" good. Mostly due to the fact that I feel like the design could have been a normal Metroid Prime box that someone applies a pink color layer to.

Will the judges change each round to avoid any long-term biases?

As far as scores go, I feel like I'm right where I deserve to be. I thought my box lacked a lot of "umf" that I was aiming for. I'm happy with slot 15 for now. I feel like the theme was a big handicap for me (For most of us, actually) and with a theme as wide as "retro games" I feel like I'm really going to be able to bring my A game. I've got to get to work ASAP. I already know what box I'll be making, but it's going to be a LOT of work.

Two judges with no bias (I have a method) are stationary, and the third slot rotates.[/quote]

Nh uh! Remember you're limited to home consoles in the 3rd generation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History...ird_generation)

Nice!! This is a great competition- everyone is so close that it's really anybody's game at this point. And shut it, Koopa. You are deserving of that score and you know it!

At least you're Top 10. Mine was pretty forgettable to both the judges and the main site. :/

Wow! Good to see myself that high - but I have to say its been an amazing round, the majority of the boxes I've seen (I'm going to check them all out, since I haven't quite had the time yet) were amazing.

I'll take this as a hint to try harder next time :|

Congratulations to everyone else though, most of you made some great boxes.

Also, how any rounds will there be??
