    Default Tips on digital coloring?

Okay, so I've been checking out a lot of Drak's boxes (awesome stuff) and his work inspired me to take the big leap into creating a custom box(es).
I've got an idea in mind but it's an existing game (the title is secret for now).
I can get the drawing part down but it's coloring digitally that gets me.
Any one have any tips/links to point me in the right direction?
    Thanks.

First off, do you have a tablet?

Well, whether you do or not, I recommend going to deviantART's tutorial category. There are hundreds upon hundreds of tutorials there for a wide variety of techniques.

No, I haven't got one, but I can probably get a cheap one.
    Thanks for the DA tip.

A tablet can help immensely, but is not required. I like Wacom's tablets best, and the price range can be pretty decent if you buy a smaller model.

There are plenty of techniques that do not require a mouse, especially if you are doing cel shading.

    Good luck with developing skills!

One thing to keep in mind when coloring, that is if you want more realistic coloring, is to use mid-level colors as your base fills. This makes it much easier to light/shade. This is not a hard fast rule, but it is a generally accepted practice.
