What did all of those films have in common? The books were already out by the time they started on the films, HP was up to the 4th by the 1st films release, Narnia was complete and Twilight had one book to go, so Orion, being that it isn't out yet, is going to take a while.
So if a movie company does decide to offer me a deal for a series, then they have to understand that it will take at least 10 years to get all of the films done, not to mention I am writing the first 3 which will come out in 2012,2013 and 2014 and then I'll take a 1 year break to write 'Precognition' and then the next ones will be out in 2016, 2018 and finally 2020.
Basically, it's a huge responsibility. And to boot, I don't even have the next book's plot in mind [It will be a direct sequel] and that could take me upwards of 8 months to think of.
