Urgent: T Shirt Design WIP (Mariolee)

I like the concept, but I really can't see it working as a T-shirt. A shirt should be instantly recognisable, so a Tshirt with a lot of text isn't normally something I would recommend. I'd say, see if you can come up with another idea, if you have time. If not, take a look at Titan38's designs in the Wallpaper and Posters section. He might be able to give you some tips.
I think finding a more simplistic picture of a lion would make the image easier, if you decide to keep this idea.

In the smaller image it's very easy to recognize and it looks good. When I saw the bigger image I still couldn't really see it, but zooming out it looks nice.

Awesome, I think I'm going to make the whole design a bit smaller for the reason you stated, but other than that what else could I improve or change up?

Looks as if my competition is doing some sort of realistic drawing (http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...18353056_n.jpg). She won two years ago (the fist post you can see in the OP). Shit, I'm screwed. What else can I do to beat this!?

With the words Have, You and Courage on the far right, in the mouth. I don't know what its supposed to be, but it doesn't look good. I say remove them so that you can see the mouth more clearly.

I think if you just took the word "Courage" out you'd be fine. Also, this t-shirt is a creative and interesting idea. Granted while I've seen similar things before, I think for the contest it will be an original and outstanding piece, I wouldn't worry about your competition if you keep going on the track you are.

I think the lion is positioned in a really awkward part of the shirt. I still think you would be better off using a different lion and having it in the middle of the shirt.

You could try this. A symmetrical lion, maybe facing you so you just have the head to turn into words. Could be done in the style Titan38 went with in his shirt designs.

The problem with that is completely reworking everything, which is something I don't realistically have time for.
Could a texture or some sort of overlay maybe push this into the right direction?

I thought about that as well, and if it's something you are willing to go for I would definitely recommend it.

I personally like the asymmetry of the shirt, it gives it character. I'd move the lion up a bit (or perhaps make it bigger) and to the left a hair to get some better positioning, but I like what you've done here.
