Mass Effect: Rebellion incoming! More multiplayer content:

    - 3 new weapons

    - 2 new maps: Firebase Goddess on Thessia, and Firebase Jade on a "jungle reservoir"

    - 6 new characters: Male Quarian Infiltrator, Male Quarian Engineer, Vorcha Soldier, Vorcha Sentinel, Phoenix Adept, and Phoenix Vanguard

What's a Phoenix in the Mass Effect world?

I didn't think there was a Phoenix in Mass Effect.

I'm assuming this one won't be free, and I can't say there's anything in the pack that interests me. Just more content I may or may not actually be able to use, thanks to the retarded store mechanic.

I'm really excited to play as Vorcha, assuming I can ever unlock one. I've still only unlocked one Batarian from Resurgence.

Rumor has it that Phoenix might be Protheans. Don't know how they'll tie that into the story though.

It's interesting to think that they might have set the goal of the operation ridiculously high on purpose (last op was to kill 3,000 banshees btw), since they knew we would not beat it, as an "excuse" to have thessia as a MP map...

Wouldn't make any less sense than the one in single-player.

Here's the official information on the Rebellion Pack. It's free, but only if you've registered an online pass. Which is the only way you'd even be able to use it, anyway.

    - Firebase Jade on Sur'Kesh, and Firebase Goddess on Thessia
    - Vorcha Soldier, Vorcha Sentinel, Male Quarian Engineer, Male Quarian Infiltrator, Ex-Cerberus Adept, Ex-Cerberus Vanguard
    - New Objective: Randomly occurring during wave 3, 7, or 10, players will need to find a package and deliver it safely to the extraction point.
    - Cerberus Harrier, Reegar Carbine, and Krysae Sniper Rifle weapons
    - New Gear Slot

The Extended Cut comes out on Tuesday (June 4th for Europeans), for anybody that cares.

Have they said what this sad attempt at appeasing their fans actually is? Some cutscenes, or is there gameplay?

Bioware: Okay guys, so here's Mass Effect 3, have fun.
Person 1: Boo the ending sucks
Person 2: This the worst thing ever, I want my money back
    Person 3: Bioware sucks.

Bioware: Alright, so we listend to your thoughts and complaints, and we decided to add some more closure to the ending
Person 1: Oh hey look they caved in, boo!
Person 2: What a sad attempt to appease the fans!
    Person 3: Bioware sucks.

Seriously, people get pissy about the ending, then get pissy when they try to fix it. Give it a rest already, at least they're trying.

Won't fix the rest of the campaign. Probably won't fix the ending.

I'll just download it for the multiplayer content.

It will add "clarification" to the ending everybody hates, which I can't imagine being truly possible because of how incoherent and nonsensical the ending was. I didn't clamor for Bioware to change the ending to begin with, but if the last 10 minutes aren't retconned then it doesn't really matter either way.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Bioware will run with the indoc theory and give players a chance to experience a conclusion that doesn't fly in the face of everything they've done up to that point. I just find that very, very doubtful.

A lot of evidence exist to support the theory that that's what bioware had been intending in the first place, so I wouldn't entirely doubt that the IT is going to be confirmed in the patch.

    Spoilers?

Mac Walters reviews the scene where Joker disengages the fight on Earth.
This does not bode well at all.

Just doesn't make sense. Joker would never do that to Shepard.

We have no idea what Joker's response is from a screenshot alone. There's a good chance he'll try to stay.

Oh yeah, and the dlc is a 2GB file. Only slightly less then the entirety of Borderlands. Just saying, it looks like they jammed a lot of content into the dlc, so why don't we reserve some judgment until Tuesday.

Isn't Borderlands around 7gb without DLC?

That's beside the point though. I do agree we shouldn't be basing judgement on one screenshot of Joker (although it doesn't do much for the indoctrination theory). My comment was directed more towards Mac Walters' involvement.

Is it? I'm just going by something I saw posted somewhere else. Still, 2GB is quite a hefty download.

I've heard that the EC is a vast improvement on the original endings. I'm on 50% now.
