So...she said no. She didn't even give me a straight reason. I dunno, how do you guys deal with rejection. I've never had to face this before because I've always made sure the girl would say yes if I were to ever ask them out or to a dance. I thought I was sure this time too! I had heard rumors that after her break up a few weeks ago that she wanted to go with me, since we've been friends forever, so I pounced on it.
I'M TROLLING, SHE SAID YES! I'm super excited.
I did a really romantic idea too, I thought. Like I said earlier in the thread, I gave her a fake Bo Burnham CD album with a note on the inside that said "So so-and-so, you doing anything on April 28th (Date of Our Prom)? If not, open the CD on the right..." I even had a picture of Bo Burnham's dramatic face on a cat with another note that said, "I hope this makes up for not being a real CD. This turned out creepier than I expected, sorry!" And I thought that was super whimsical, which fits with our friendship. I dunno, maybe I'm destined to failures.Looks like I'm going this prom alone.
Invisitext is always fun.
This might be a little off topic, but last year, I turned a girl down because I didn't want a girlfriend at the moment and I didn't like her. She tried stabbing me at lunch in school with a fork.
Mariolee, don't be down just because you got rejected, you can't have everyone you want. Just get it out of your mind and try to get over it.
Life... y u not make sense?
So today the girl decides to tell me, during a conversation, that the fact that I always start our conversations makes her feel special. Apparently with everyone else she has to chase them down. I come to her. It makes her feel special.
Then she changed our original plans for the movie (mentioned previously) so that we're also having dinner before the movie, along with two hours to hang out, followed by the late showing of the movie, meaning we won't be out of it til at least 11:30.
Then she did this Hunger Games meme thing on Facebook and of the 8 people in the list, I was tagged as "The One That Secretly Loves You".
I've received probably 400 texts from her in the last week... about childhood memories, future plans, movies, books, anything we can think of. I talk to her every morning, and we tell each other goodnight before we go to bed.
What's going on?
She just got out of a five-year relationship... I'm here for her, I'm comforting, I listen well. She trusts me, we've known each other for years... I just happened to be willing to be there for her night and day over the last week as she deals with her breakup. I don't think she wants me to be more aggressive. She's already said several times now that she's looking to gain back some of her independence that was lost during her relationship, because of the type of person her boyfriend was. She's said that she's not looking for a relationship. And the few times that I've tried to be romantic, she's either stopped responding, changed the topic, or made it clear that it's just a friendship. Then she turns around and tells me that I make her feel special, like few people have.
I'm confused.
Oh... my... god you guys...
She just quoted Star Fox. And not even the Barrel Roll line or the stupid Wolf line. Actual other lines from the game that no one other than someone who has played the game far too much would know.
I must be dreaming.
