This actually turned out to be worse that it did when I first heard about it. There are so many things wrong with the representation of the character. The bottom line is that Ninja Theory shouldn't be touching this series. Ninja Theory could change the name of the protagonist and the game to something else and all fans would be satisfied.

It's hard to comprehend how Capcom is behind this. This video really hit me even harder, because at the moment, I'm playing the Devil May Cry HD Collection, and it's sad to see basically Devil May Cry 1-4 thrown out of the window completely in place of this new incarnation if you could even call it that.

I agree, but I still have faith in Ninja Theory, and have confidence that they will produce the goods, even if it isn't a 'true' DMC sequel.
I can understand the anger at the redesign, but I think we will end up pleasantly surprised.

No, we won't. The entire development process Ninja Theory has basically been "we don't care what any of you real Devil May Cry fans think, we are going to do things OUR way and you'll still buy the damn game". Anybody who actually buys this game to "give it a chance" is a sucker, Capcom knows it, and Ninja Theory know it. That's why the whole time they have Ninja Theory have basically been BEGGING people to "just give it a chance, you'll like it I promise!" And again, the redesign in hardly even a problem, it's the changes to literally EVERYTHING that made Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry. Gameplay? Different. Music style? Different. Every single thing about the main character and story? Different. Style? Different. I ask you guys, as Devil May Cry fans, what the hell are you looking forward too!? What makes this game "look ok now" or "worth giving a chance?" It looks exactly the same as the first couple of times we saw it and you all hated it as far as I'm concerned.

Also Capcom doesn't care if you guys like this game, once they have your money if you don't like the game, too bad they got what they wanted.

Want to know the saddest thing about this for us fans?

If this does well, we won't see another classic DMC game, if it does badly, we won't see the franchise at all.

That's primarily why I bought the HD collection. I want Capcom to realise there still a demand for the games. If it manages to outsell DmC (maybe I'm a little too optimistic there) then surely they'll come to their senses. Although, this is Capcom we're talking about.

I honestly really did want to give this a chance after seeing the "devil trigger" type of transformation into the white-haired version whilst in the twisted/inverted plain, that I saw a while ago. But after seeing this recent vid, I'm just not going to care anymore, I really want them to just change the name to something other than DMC & to get rid of all ties to Devil May Cry.

Although since that wont happen, I just really hope that they are going to bypass Vergil altogether.

I actually think this Vergil's pretty cool looking, he looks like he would before the stylin' hair change, and his voice ain't half bad either, unlike a certain main character we all know. And according to that gif, this is going to be on the opposite difficulty spectrum from DMC3. -_-
