Bamboo tablets are really great. Wacom tablets, like the Intuos 4, are fantastic too, but they will cost more.

Bamboo is your best bet in my opinion. Good product, versatile, and around 50 bucks.

Or you could hone your mouse(pad) skills and save yourself some cash.

Bamboo but make sure you get the newest one and read carefully what it does. There is a couple different tablets and some can't do some things.

I have to agree with Drakxxx, the bamboo tablet is fantastic and I bought mine from Amazon for around £30 - £35.
    Signatures are lame.
Hence why I don't have one.
    Because I'm awesome.

Yeah, I just got my Bamboo Pen on Amazon for $60, and so far it's really good.

I've been contemplating on getting a tablet for myself, and it seems the Wacom Bamboo Pen tablet is the best cheap one to get right now. I've had a few things break on me, especially my Saitek Eclipse II keyboard, so I'm trying to be extra careful on what I buy. T.T

I found Bamboo and Intuos tablets to be shitty. There's a disconnect between your hand and what's being drawn.

The only way to go is to get a Cintiq. But those are expensive as hell.

The point is that the Bamboo Fun and Intuous tablets are more efficient than using a mouse when drawing or painting. It takes little time for your brain to adjust and correct for that "disconnected" feeling you mentioned.

I have a huge Intuous at work but a smaller Bamboo for my much desk at home due to my need for a smaller footprint on that smaller desk. Aside from the Intuous' more advanced features, the size difference is what I most notice, and that is not really a problem worth mentioning.
