    Default New Mortal Kombat Movie

This is a teaser for the new movie, and it's not video game related:

I must say that this looks awesome, and finaly a dark Mortal Kombat movie for once.

    1) It's not a movie, the rumor is that it's a test-run to see how the response is. Testing the waters to decide whether or not they'll make a movie.

    2) The image of Sub-Zero that flashes was taken from this. Leading me to believe that it's not professionally made.

    3) I strongly doubt the sources for your second link. The article says "I've confirmed absolutely that this is a promo for the new movie, not a game," but in no way elaborates on HOW it's been confirmed.

To summarize, I think it's either a fan film (Like the Street Fighter short) or a quick project to test the waters.

I'm pretty sure it's a quick project to test the waters.

To me I think its a reboot of the game series. I mean you got to think about it. All these live action video game trailers. Halo, FEAR, and Resident evil. Thats just my opinion.

Ya, know, the old Mortal Kombat movie wasn't THAT bad...hell, it was better than Street fighter.
    I saw it on IGN....methinks it's a promo for a game reboot.

The first (Strictly the first) MK movie was actually pretty good. In fact, I'd say it ranks among the top five game to movie adaptations. Granted, that isn't saying much, but they still did a damn fine job.

I just wish they could've followed the game's characters and stories more closely. The Sub-Zero and Scorpion sub-plot would've been awesome. I have no idea why they would completely abandon it and just make them mindless slaves of Shang T'sung.

here an update on gameinformer about the video

[Update]: After being inundated with questions via Twitter, actress Jeri Ryan clarified that she stepped into the boots of Sonya Blade as a favor for a friend.

“Okay, so…Mortal Kombat. It’s not a game trailer,” said Ryan. “Actually was made for the director to sell WB on his vision for a re imagined MK film. I did it as a favor to a friend. No idea yet what WB’s reaction to it was.”

Let’s hope WB enjoyed it as much as we did.

    I just read that yesterday.

Did the Uwe Boll/Jessica Simpson Metroid movie scare anyone?
It scared the crap out of me until the next day IGN confirmed it was false.

I think you're pretty much the only person that thought it was legit. Nintendo is very protective of their IPs. It's unlikely they would allow anyone to make a Metroid movie, let alone Uwe Boll.

Man, you're such an asshole. All I was asking is a simple question.

All I did was reply to your question. I think it's pretty reasonable to reply to a question.

If you didn't want people to reply, maybe you shouldn't have asked it.

For the love of fuck, WB, make this a full movie. I don't give a shit about cannon, the fight scene was awesome.
