when i upload the box it says:
Your box image is too small! It must be at least 320 pixels wide.
heres my box details

I've emailed Reed about all the problems with uploading to the site today. Hopefully things will be corrected soon enough. I was looking at the front page and thought it was really weird that there have been no new boxes throughout the day. I guess this explains it.

That's exactly what happened to me! My box is 1280 by 1040 or something and it says it's too small. It must be a problem with the site.
Don't count on it ever getting fixed because Reed is never around.

That's unnecessary and also untrue. I'm sure Reed has other things in his life that don't involve VGBoxArt and he does spend a large amount of time devoted here.

This has been happening for 12 hours now, why is there a glitch when uploading all of a sudden?

Anyway, i think it might either be a bug which Reed will fix soon enough as he normally does or he's updating the site which might take away our ability to upload stuff, as it happens on youtube also when they do site maintenance.

It's not a problem and as Drakxxx said, the error will be fixed, just give it a few hours.

As Reed is the Admin I'm sure he'll be able to find the problem in a few minutes and get rid of it.

I guess I'm one of the lucky few who got in before the "freeze" so we get some extra limelight.

Although I kind of wish my boxes were bumped of the front page sometimes.

At least the forum side of the site thrives in the meantime

I don't know. This is all speculation on my part. It could just be a glitch that needs to be corrected.

It most probably is a Glitch, i doubt Reed would shut down the main part of the site, if anything he would have closed the forums down, as they're more active.

Well there's no rush really, i was just wondering why it wasn't working as many others were, I still have some work i need to do on Fifa 11 so this gives me a little more time.

This site uses a ton of bandwidth to display the box images. Without the ad revenue it can't be paid for. In fact last month the site used 98% of available bandwidth, I nearly shut down for a few days to prevent going over. If ad revenue is not climbing in relation to usage or worse, dropping, then I'd shut down vs an upgrade.

Running out of bandwidth could be the reason. I've been asking Reed to give LK and myself the ability to delete spam boxes out of the database. If it ever happens, I'll spend a whole weekend getting as much of that junk off the site as possible.

That would help out a lot, It would seem like the right idea to give Mods the ability to remove spam boxes.

And it would cut the bandwidth down a hell of a lot.

I think that if Reed prevented hotlinking a lot of the bandwidth usage wouldn't be used. I don't think it was done purposely though, a division by zero is a common coding error when using php.
