    Lightbulb Portable Gamecube

So I have the pieces, and I might post pics to show progress. I really want to get this done, and I have a few friends who are willing to help. If its not this summer then def. by the school year. If I take it to the University of Waterloo with me in the fall, it'll get done real quick (Computer Engineering Program).

So I was wondering what you guys thought on portabilizing consoles.

Additionally, should I create mini cases for my games (the cube discs are rather small). I was thinking like cardboard sleeves.

Please note, the majority of this thread is now just bickering.

So are you like hacking a gameboy to play gamecube games?

I think I remember one of these from way back. It was official, it had a little screen you attached on top, you could switch from black and white or colors, and I think you plugged a cable in the car to play.

I have also wanted to make a portable gamecube for some reason.
Ever sense I've seen that mini GC controller at Gamestop.

But yes that fake Eggboy posted is surly the best portable GC to ever be.
(not that I'm saying you'll fail, I hope you make something awesome.)

And how the heck do you play GC on your Ipod touch UF ?
(I want to see a video!)

But if you do indeed do this, I say try and mod a PSP game case or something, that'd be cool.

How the hell do you do that? There'd be too many buttons!

Dude that's a lie, I don't own an Ipod Touch but I don't think it could run it, and then there would need to be different controls for different genres so it can work then there all the buttons including the triggers.

As epic as the portable gc is I'm I the only one that thinks the dpad/C stick it too far?

Sounds cool, man. Go for it. I've seen it done with the PS1, and I think the PS2, so it'll be sweet to see it for a gamecube.

That shop posted looks like shit. It just looks like someone took a portal DVD player and badly placed Gamecube buttons on it without at all considering comfort. Can you imagine how horrible it would be to play that?

I highly doubt you can make gamecube roms run decent on your ipod touch, I've seen high end PCs that barely emulate gamecube at about 20 fps, so no handheld is going to be able to.

You can't run GameCube roms on an Ipod Touch. There is an emulator for N64, and PSX, but both run like crap. SNES, NES, and Gameboy work pretty good though.

*Remember kids. Only emulate if you own the actual software.

I've owned every big name system but a dreamcast so I have the right to do whatever the hell I want lol. I want to emulate Gameboy games on my PSP Go but the only person to have done it won't give out his hack.

One thing I loved about the GameCube in particular was it's portability. It was a very small size, light, and even had a pretty sturdy handle that fit well with the design.

Oh, Nintendo GameCube. How underrated ye were.

Though I think the Wii more than makes up for the Gamecube's short life.

Also, I've seen a portable PS1, PS2, Dreamcast and N64 on youtube. I reckon if someone can do it with a PS2, someone can do it with a GCN. Good luck to you!

An opportunity to play Zelda at my grandma's without having to bring all the wires and connect everything to her TV? I'm in.

I do have a gamecube I don't use anymore since I got an Wii, so if you can make this work, I'll do it as well.
