    SPOILERS

Actually you do need to play multiplayer, I downloaded the From Ashes DLC and did tons of side missions and my military awareness didn't move from 50%. I then proceeded to play through a second time with a rank 27 commander, got to the end again and it was still at 50%. I found all war assets, did all side missions and completed the game 2 times over and I still didn't get the ending where Shepard lives.

Here was my first ending: I didn't find all war assets, so I chose the "Control" option, when I did that Joker, Ashley and James survived on an unknown planet. I died, and the Reapers left earth but the mass relays were destroyed and all of those battle ships above earth were left stranded.

My second ending: Synthesis, a combination of organic and synthetic life into a new strain of DNA. The Reapers left "green", Joker, Edi and Garrus survived and the mass relays were destroyed, all of the battle ships above earth were still left stranded.

I then replayed the last 2 hours to get the final ending.

My third ending: Destroy. I destroyed all synthetic life, including the Reapers, Geth and Edi. The mass relays were destroyed again, the battle ships were stranded again and the Normandy crashed on an unknown planet, the door opened and then it cut to black. Credits rolled and I got the "Special ending" which was a deviantART picture which was edited in photoshop where an old man was telling his grandson/grand daughter about Shepard's tale. Never got the extra scene where Shepard can be seen breathing.

So I then proceeded to play multiplayer for about 3 hours. I won 10 matches, lost 3. My military awareness then jumped to 100%. I did the full 2 hour ending again and this time I got the special 5 seconds of video where Shepard breathes.

That was my experience with the game.
    Signatures are lame.
Hence why I don't have one.
    Because I'm awesome.

I believe that [spoiler] .......................the Effective Military Strength number is the only deciding factor in whether or not Shepard lives. [spoiler] You don't need to play multiplayer, but it can make succeeding easier.

Exactly, it's not essential to play the multiplayer, but in order to get that ending you need to do it to make it much easier to achieve. Unless you can somehow do all of the timed side missions, which isn't exactly easy to do because you don't know how much time you have to do these missions.

    ........................spoilers?................. ..................

You're EMS has to be 5000+ if you want the "best" ending.

You just contradicted your original review comment, and this is the point I was trying to make in the first place. As long as you play the campaign to it's fullest capacity, experience all of the side missions, collect all of the war assets and generally making decisions that will ultimately lead to a strong galactic fleet, you'll be fine. I'd expect nothing less from a "perfect ending" requirement. Also, I can't imagine it being that difficult to rally a high EMS, considering I was able to do it unwittingly with little help from the Galaxy at War map.

Well, as stated, the multiplayer isn't essential, but if you want to get the full experience of ME3 you need to play it. Which in my opinion, for non-xbl-psn users isn't going to allow them to do it. I got a good ending myself, but I just didn't like the way that EMS didn't move throughout the course of the game when played in single player.

It stayed at 50% the entire way through. I collected 7000 but that translated to just 3500 EMS. Meaning I couldn't get the best ending because I didn't realise the only way to raise the 50% was to play Galaxy at War. Or complete more side quests than there is time to do.

Regardless, it's a shame you had such unpleasant experiences with the game's multiplayer tie-in. And on a small note, despite my now enjoying it, I wouldn't have minded if the Galaxy at War was discarded entirely before the game's release.

Edit: Doing some further research into the matter, it would seem that I'm in the wrong, actually. I apologize for dragging out this conversation, as it appears that achieving the optimal EMS rating isn't possible through the campaign alone. This decision on Bioware's part does seem... questionable, at best.

Exactly my point, it is very questionable because many people don't have XBL or PSN accounts. They did include a 2 day gold pass, but it still doesn't take away the fact that if you want to boost the EMS rating you need to play multiplayer. I've always seen multiplayer as added content, yet Bioware (or likely EA) decided to make you play it in order to achieve the best ending, which is wrong as the campaign should be the only thing you need to do to get the best ending. Multiplayer should be optional, in ME3 it is unavoidable.

I can understand and even support the idea of the EMS being a crucial element in whether or not you see the secret ending, because it does make sense, but to tie it to the multiplayer was ill-advised. I wouldn't be surprised if this was EA's doing.

It's not a bad game but I don't like this game. I played a total of five matches and was unable to get a single kill.

I know what you mean. I've played the game enough to get fairly good at it, but I just didn't find it as appealing as I've heard people make it out to be.

    Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations
In the story mode, this game has nothing on the last two games. However, the combat is much better and the new game modes(Survival and Tournament) are great additions.

I finally completed Final Fantasy XIII-2 at true 100%. All 160 fragments collected, all beasts tamed, all roles maxed at lv99, paradox and secret endings viewed. Just felt I should give my up-to-date thoughts on the game.

It's still fantastic. Whether or not I like it more than it's predecessor remains to be seen, however.

I accomplished all the achievements in Brutal Legend, plus 100% of the Campaign. It was a great game for me, perhaps I'll play again some months later. =)

    Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 (PC)

I have been playing this game since 2006 and for the past 6 years I have enjoyed the game immensely. Today I finally finished it, I constructed over 500 parks, thousands of rides, brought in millions worth of revenue and finished off my final park with a commondation.

I would add the +'s and -'s to this game, but the list would overthrow the character limit. However I will say this, if you want to play a game with full customization and limitless gameplay, this is the one for you.
