    Persona 4

That was a pretty lengthy journey, what with the main storyline clocking in at around 75 hours. It's still a far cry from the time investment that was Persona 3, but what both have in common - amongst other things - is that time being well spent.

+ A solid mystery plot keeps things interesting when not taking a backseat to character interaction
+ Character interaction takes top billing as Persona 4's strongest aspect with an endearing, relatable cast of high-schoolers
+ Living the life of a high-schooler amidst the dangers of lurking shadows remains as addictive as ever
+ Various minor changes to gameplay help stave off repetition that may have occurred in Persona 3
+ Fusing Personas remains an endlessly addictive chasm of possibilities
+ The english dub is damn near perfect; I couldn't imagine hearing the characters in any other way
+ Shoji Meguro's mix of catchy, upbeat rhythms and moving instrumentals makes a comeback
+ The artistic work of Soejima is once again realized in a wonderfully offbeat style
+ The lack of Fuuka or an equivalent living in Inaba

    - The TV world, though a bit more scenically and musically varied, shares many similarities to Tartarus
    - The combat system can be somewhat simply taken advantage of, making most enemies pathetically easy to kill

    Splinter Cell Conviction - 2.5/5

Too much of a departure from the originals. Not enough stealth. Too much action. The Deniable Ops mode is fun for a few minutes here and there but can't hold my attention. The campaign is painful, didn't even finish it.

    Pandora's Tower -9/10

The game is great. First the story. The story is awesome and the way the game tells you the story is great. It's dark and odd. The game has a great atmosphere too. The characters are okay. The main hero is bland, but Mavda and Elena are great characters. The gameplay is ok. It's fun, especially the boss battles. However the combat it's the same the whole game. There's 4 different weapons in the game which adds a little diversity, but you're going to combat the same way trough the whole game, which can be annoying in latter parts of the game, where the enemies are way stronger. The RPG elements of the games (Which are few) doesn't make much difference (At least I didn't see it), so there's no need for grinding (Well, maybe for items). The other mechanics, like shopping, equips, the time limit, affinity, etc. are good too. The sound track is great, but they pretty much reutilizes the same song over and over again. For example there's 4 boss theme songs, one for the first 5 towers one for the next 5 towers, one for tower 11 and 12 and one for the 13 tower, which is the final tower. 13 bosses and 4 bosses themes. The graphics are ok. They could've made it better, but it's good the way it is, since it adds to the atmosphere of the game.

In the end, it's a great game, really overlooked. It has a good replay value(There are certain areas of the game that can be accessed after you beat it, and there is 5 different endings), and it's really fun. I think everyone should give a chance to the game.

It might not be so overlooked if Nintendo would actually give it to us.

Yeah, I hope that when it comes to America it gets a little more attention than it's having now.

The problem I see with Nintendo is that they rarely market their games, unless it's Mario or Zelda. They wonder why they have few sales, but that's probably because few people know they exist.

It's been more apparent with this generation than any prior. We can only hope that Nintendo makes some changes beyond simple hardware upgrades this E3 and beyond.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (HD) - 14/10

I finished it about a week ago and now I'm playing through a second time so I can get it platinum'd. It's gonna take me 3 play throughs to actually get all the trophies, but the third one will just need to be a no-kill one. With Spirit camo and stealth on, I'll be completely invisible and silent. So it shouldn't take me any time at all.

Sometimes I pay close attention, looking for flaws in it, since I'm convinced that there will never be a perfect game. I always fail when I try this.

Easily my favorite game ever made.

I got no kills my first time in. But if you need to do it with no alerts, still be careful with Stealth. You can still be spotted.

I'm not sure where I killed people on my first playthrough, but apparently I killed 3.

I don't think there's any trophy that requires no alerts, so I'm not too worried about that. Either way, I'm probably just gonna sprint through and not even neutralize anyone that I don't need to.

    Prototype 2

The reboot (so to speak) with a new primary protagonist, turning the previous protagonist into the new antagonist which makes any protagonist a foreseeable future antagonist. Is it any good?

+ Story: I for one enjoyed the story of Prototype 2 far more than the first one. The characters are great here, and Heller acts like any father would in a situation where his daughter and wife were murdered by something he couldn't explain. From the get go he is in a wreck, then sees Mercer (our new resident asshole) who then runs off and Heller chases him. After this, Heller is infected with the "Mercer Virus" and becomes a new Prototype. From there, everything picks up and the story is one of the best so far this year.

+ Voice Acting: Brilliant, even though Mercer is voiced by a new guy he still sounds as cool as he did the first time around. But it's Heller's voice actor that does justice to the script and story. The characters are voiced over pretty well here and I am very pleased with the outcome of what I heard.

+ Music: As I've said previously, music is what makes a game IMO. The music here, though there's only a few tracks, is excellent and far surpasses the first one. Brilliant, yet again, I just hope more games use this style of music in the future.

+ Gameplay: Repetetive at times, but not as repetetive as the first one. There's no more "collect red orbs" in this one, you just gain EP (Experience) by killing stuff, using the bio-bomb or the epic claw pounce attacks. The gameplay runs smooth, I was experiencing this on 360 so I can't say anything for the PS3 version, though my friend said he's had some texture issues on the PS3 with his version.

+ Length: A decent 12 - 13 hour playthrough for me the first time around. I didn't do everything in the game and just like Prototype 1 I'll go back and just randomly fight stuff to waste time until Max Payne 3 comes out.

    - With all games there are minuses, and Prototype 2 has a couple of flaws. The first being the whole "Alex turning bad" thing, his idea was good but his execution left him looking like a rambling and hulked up version of his former self, this isn't the same Mercer from the first game, the anti-hero is gone, now he's a full-fledged villain. Another of the flaws, was the repetetiveness of some of the Blackwatch side missions where you need to kill people, all you have to do is go to a UPV (Urban Pacification Vehicle) and locate someone, then you have to consume them. You do this several times through the story, so it does get annoying.

Other than that, Prototype 2 is a solid entry into the gaming industry and although Greg Miller, the IGNorant reviewer from IGN says it's repetetive and boring and gives it a 7 because of these factors, don't listen to him. Prototype 2 is a fantastic game with a memorable array of characters and a gripping family storyline which will keep you hooked until the end.

    My score: 8.5/10
    Signatures are lame.
Hence why I don't have one.
    Because I'm awesome.

Is it still repetitive button mashing? Because if it is I don't blame Greg in the slightest. I really disliked the first one because of that.

I had that on MGS4... I only ever used my Tranq gun, but somehow got 3 kills... Must have happened on the truck when I took the Gekko's out with the turret, must have hit a PMCS on accident

At times, you'll still use the same buttons to attack but there are different variations this time around. It's not "mash x, mash x" all the time anymore, one of the reasons I didn't like Prototype 1 so much was that button mashing, but in this one you have a few extra things to do. Such as quick-time events which pop up once in a while to break away from the hack-and-slash style gameplay.

So to answer your question, it's not all button mashing, there's some variety.

It still doesn't sound like a game I'd enjoy, but at least not as bad as I thought.

You should rent it, at the very least. It's worth that.

Last game I played was Bastion.

Shallow, boring, too focused on looking like "art" than giving proper, non repetitive gameplay.

    I did not like it.

Oh and The voiceover is annoying.

Yeah, and the same thing happened to me on MGS2... I think it's because I used the non-lethal blade and stabbed people instead of slashing, or when I threw the tranquilized soldiers overboard on the tanker.

Also, I think something is wrong with my MGS3 save. I caught the Tsuchinoko at Bolshaya Past South (where there are no other animals around) in about 15 minutes. Then I went on, fought Ocelot, and ended up in the caves. I remembered that there was a Kerotan that I needed to get where you fought Ocelot, so I killed myself and went back to the main menu to load. When I loaded and tried to catch the Tsuchinoko again, I wasn't able to. Even after I waited like 45 minutes, I caught nothing.

I read the second best place to catch it is after The Fear boss battle, you kill all the animals around and set a mousetrap. If that doesn't work it means I need to go through the no-kill play through without infinite ammo. Not the worst thing ever, but it would be nice to have.
