Persona 4
That was a pretty lengthy journey, what with the main storyline clocking in at around 75 hours. It's still a far cry from the time investment that was Persona 3, but what both have in common - amongst other things - is that time being well spent.
+ A solid mystery plot keeps things interesting when not taking a backseat to character interaction
+ Character interaction takes top billing as Persona 4's strongest aspect with an endearing, relatable cast of high-schoolers
+ Living the life of a high-schooler amidst the dangers of lurking shadows remains as addictive as ever
+ Various minor changes to gameplay help stave off repetition that may have occurred in Persona 3
+ Fusing Personas remains an endlessly addictive chasm of possibilities
+ The english dub is damn near perfect; I couldn't imagine hearing the characters in any other way
+ Shoji Meguro's mix of catchy, upbeat rhythms and moving instrumentals makes a comeback
+ The artistic work of Soejima is once again realized in a wonderfully offbeat style
+ The lack of Fuuka or an equivalent living in Inaba
- The TV world, though a bit more scenically and musically varied, shares many similarities to Tartarus
- The combat system can be somewhat simply taken advantage of, making most enemies pathetically easy to kill
