Really? It's broken as hell but still a lot of fun.

I wouldn't call it "ungodly awful", but it's incredibly overrated. Skyrim looks miles beyond it.

When it first came out, the graphics and gameplay was amazing for that time, and that's why people loved it. When those fans play it today, they still love it because they played it way back when. However, when people play it for the first time these days, they probably put it away because of how buggy it is and miss the chance of playing a great game. What I think I'm trying to say is, Oblivion is a great game, except not for this time. It can't compete with games that have come out today, so it's not a good game with this time's standards. However, the real fans still think of it as an amazing game, with a truly unique and interesting story, and that's why it is so praised.
I remember, back in 2006, what felt like everyone on the planet deeming the game the best of the year. Aside from the broken game engine, the world of Cyrodill was just... boring. Dungeons and caves felt recycled and gave forth little reward for being explored. The main storyline was short, and not that interesting if I recall. Oh, and the Oblivion planes were just dreadful. The guilds did give some incentive to explore and complete quests (The Dark Brotherhood was genuinely intriguing), but it couldn't hold my attention long enough for me to complete it in it's entirety. In the end, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either.

Skyrim seems to remedy all or at least most of my issues with Oblivion. I'm actually really looking forward to it.

This review makes my head hurt. I've played over 40 hours of Oblivion, sure it has a lot of bugs but it was extremely fun.

    Bulletstorm (PC)

+ It's like Gears of War... IN COLOR! Yeah, this game features space marines that swear a lot and make their living killing lifeforms as brutally as possible. Altough what makes it great in this case, is that this is a parody. The plot is silly, the characters are caricatures and the weapons are just inconveniently sadistic.
+ The game rewards imaginative and unusual ways to kill. This makes a game that in the end is nothing but clearing one after another of enemies a little bit more fun.

    - The novelty of the killing wears off by the end of the game. It just doesn't have any impact after you've kicked an entire civilization into a cactus.
    - Your sidekick is a pain in the ass. I'm not even exaggerating when I say that he complains all the time. You can look at his script and all you see is one complaint after another.
    - The ending is a disappointment. There's some pretty impressive fights throughout the game, but the ending was a complete waste. It's a quick time event against one guy. And no, it's not an awesome fist fight or anything cool like, you just use your laser whip and the guy is as helpless as any grunt that you've slain throughout the game. And as a final middle finger, the plot is left completely unsolved and open for a sequel.

    7/10.

    Dead Island-PC
    8/10

I have only played about 10 minutes and it seems good so far. I'll play more at the weekend when I have more time. I'll redo my opinion after I have played for a few hours.

    Portal

Got it when it was free before and never finished it. Now that it's free again I downloaded it and finished it in one sitting. Now I really want the sequel.

I just finished up the first-person stealth-action-rpg Deus Ex: Human Revolution last night. I think that when i look back on this gen, DE:HR will be the game that stands out the most. While the "achieve the objective however you want" gameplay was fantastic, what i really loved was the immersion and atmosphere. Top notch art direction coupled with great lighting and particle and shader effects really helped set the mood. In terms of gameplay style, i went the Jason Bourne route with a mix of stealth/being lethal and a heavy dose of hacking and looking for alternate routes.

    Pros
Well done conspiracy story with a few twists
    Many different playstyles
    Amazing atmosphere (very Blade Runner-esque)
    Great characters to interact with
Tailor Augmentations to suit your playstyle
    Lots of exploration
    High replay value

    Cons
    Inconstant texture and model quality
    AI could be better
Non-lethal takedowns use up a battery cell

    Overall: 9.5/10

After about 3 years of having the game, sealed. I have finally, finally beaten Fallout 3.

I thought it was good, not as good as New Vegas. Had hardly any problems, unlike New Vegas which continued to crash all the time even though I have a J-Tag 360 (As in a hacked 360, removed RROD chip and an Elite motherboard). All in all, the game was great, story wasn't all that good to be honest and I love a good story when I'm playing a videogame. But the gameplay more or less picks up from that issue and the side quests are entertaining.

Poured around 140 hours into it in the last 3 months. Very expansive and I got the GOTY edition with all 5 DLC's.

    Score: 7.9/10 - 79%

Prince of Persia: Trilogy - SOT 8.5/10, WW 7.5/10, TTT 8/10
    God of War: COO & GOS - 8.5/10 & 9/10
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - 9/10

I'll have a few more scores soon. I'm playing through the huge list of PSP game I got on a bargain hunt last week.
1,000G for not purchasing Xbox One
    Platinum Trophy "You chose wisely"
    Wii U ROCK!!!!!

You know what? I agree. It's not as bad as I make it out to be. I've been replaying it for a few days and it's pretty good. Not as good as New Vegas but still good.

    Fallout: New Vegas

Just started, but so far I'd give it an 8/10. Im about 10 missions into the game and its been a lot of fun, I can say that its better then Fallout 3 in a lot of ways.

My brother just lent me Morrowind on PC (Not GotY). I'm busy with college and other things so I'll try and add 'so fars' as I go. So far I like how it gets straight into it unlike Oblivion which stretches character creation out a little. But it's too early right now....

Is Portal 2 better, worse, or same as the original?

I would say it's bigger, but I don't know about better. Portal is my favorite game of all time, and really, all Portal 2 did was expand upon and improve, but I still like the original Portal more. Portal 2 is definitely worth your money, though.

In some ways all of them. I felt mostly better in length and puzzles but somebits felt a bit rushed and lazy. But it is so worth picking up! I'm glad I bought it at full price! (not counting trade ins and the pre-order £5 discount)
