I love FilmFour's Danny Boyle season. I missed a Life Less ordinary last night sadly though...
Love all four of those movies.

Go into A Life Less Ordinary expecting it to be completely different in tone, etc from other Boyle works and you will walk away satisfied (I hope =p)

It's one of my favorite films of all time.

Danny Boyle's best movie was 28 Days Later than Sunshine cause Cillian Murphy is probably the best actor ever. Seriously watch his movies.

Sunshine was a good movie but not great.

Visually, one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. It is astonishingly beautiful. The movie itself is good and at times great but...I can't put my finger on it. It works but its not Boyle's best, even if Cillian Murphey is a badass.

Same goes for 28 Days Later except that one has more substance and works better than Sunshine did.

    Also, Millions was underrated, kthnxbai.

I have not seen The Beach.

    The Lovely Bones- 9.7/10

I really thought that it was an incredible film. The acting was amazing, the story was gripping, The CG was impressive. I'll be honest, I just about cried during one part. One of, if not the best movie that I have seen in a long time. Deffiently go check this one out!

The Book of Eli - 10/10

I feel like 10/10 isn't good enough. There wasn't a single part in the movie were I usually say they should have done this or that. It was a sick movie and you couldn't guess the ending if you tried. It was a perfect Fallout style movie with fighting scenes that were sick as hell.

Where The Wild Things Are - 7/10 sorry

Kinda a spoiler. Maybe it's because when I was little I didn't like fuzzy teddy bears with an attitude problem but I watched it with no knowledge of the story before hand and thought it was kinda weak. I don't think it was the ending because the ending made sense based on the movies plot but I think the whole movie was just half hearted adventure with creatures that only liked him from a lie and want to literally eat him for no reason other than the fact they have the inability to love. I understand the kid was ignored and picked on and he came across some new creatures that he wanted to befriend but it was kinda as if he can't even day dream the fact that he is loved anywhere. I wouldn't call anything in the movie a "friendship".

Youth In Revolt - 8/10. The story was a little different from the novel, especially near the end, but, it was funny as hell. The character Francois had the best lines in the whole thing.

    Zombieland - 8/10
An gripping and satrical take on the original zombie concept. Really funny, and polished throughout.

    The Invention of Lying: 8/10

I really liked the movie, however the jokes were rather repetitive. I laughed so hard at the beginning, but however throughout the movie I found myself not laughing as much as I did. Although I really liked the plot and the story, it was a comedy, and comedies are supposed to make you laugh.
In conclusion, it was really good, but I've seen better. I recommend this to rent.

I caught three films this winter break:

The princess and the Frog - 8.5/10. Quite good, a return to the Disney Renaissance style of 2D musicals from the 90s.

Avatar - 8.5/10. Exceptional visual effects and art design, but generic story with one dimensional characters.

Sherlock Holmes - 7/10. Downey jr. as Downey Jr. Pacing was very bad and ritchie-camera tricks makes this too different than the source material. Might as well call it another spy franchise entirely. Law's watson was one of the saving graces.

    The Hangover - 6/10

Honestly, the movie wasn't that funny at all. Like it had its parts for sure and when those parts came it was a funny movie but when the tried to be serious it didn't work.

    Foreign film kick...

Watched this again. Kurosawa was easily one of the most exciting men behind a camera. Mifune is such a charismatic actor, he dominates every inch of the screen. Beware though, don't go thinking its a Japanese version of Star Wars, as some people would make you believe.

    8.5/10

Recently caught this in the theatre. Really good road trip/coming of age/social message Bollywood commercial film. Aamir Khan steals the show. Must watch if you are proficient in Hindi/Urdu.
