Decided to introduce myself to a bit of modern American Grindhouse last night...

    Planet Terror: 8.5/10
Overall highly entertaining ~ wasn't going into any of these movies expecting something deep and brilliant in the terms of story but it was a blast to watch overall.

    Death Proof: 7/10
Didn't like this one as much as Planet Terror, but Kurt Russel is a badass and the car chase scenes are really, really well made if you're into that stuff. Pacing was a bit slow but the action scenes were great and the chicks were hot that's what all you guys want anyways D:

    Hobo With a Shotgun: 8/10
Absolutely hilarious at some points and some deaths are pretty gruesome but, funnily enough the plot for this was actually good. Unlike some other Grindhouse flicks, this really makes you feel for the characters. The good acting had something to do with this, but it was a great movie overall.

    Machete: 6/10
My least favorite of the three. I could really appreciate the action scenes and the funny dialogue, but the acting was just bad. And I know one of the classic schticks of Grindhouse movies is that they have corny/overdone acting, but the acting here just felt plain and wooden, no personality at all.
    bless you with this DOPE

I can tell already that I'm getting judged. But I love musical theatre, and so I wanted to see this.
The director probably didn't do this justice, but the music was incredible. All of the leads, especially Jennifer Hudson who played Effie White, where incredible. The soundtrack is just so good.
    8/10

    The Negotiator - 4/5

    Three words: Sam Fucking Jackson.

On a totally unrelated note, I think if they made a movie with Sam Jackson, Liam Neeson, Jason Statham, and Ron Perlman my head might explode from the awesomeness.

    X-Men: First Class - 8/10

Hands down my favorite X-Men movie. Though I must say, this movie DID mess with the continuity of the original 3 movies and the Wolverine movie YET it is suppose to be set in that canon. It's just weird that Havoc (Alex Summers) isn't Scotts brother anymore but he's related to him "in a way that works for the movies" what ever that is lol And I feel like they rushed to have Professor X become paralyzed. They could have saved that for one more movie and made it happen a little more epic.

    THIIIIIISSSS

The only REAL problem I had with the movie. (Besides the bevy of continuity mishaps)
Such a missed opportunity, like you said.

Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva - 7/10

They handled the puzzles well (Even though it's just 4, and Layton would get the answer 3 seconds later), and the story is interesting. I just feel it was a little too short. They could make a 2 hour movie instead of one with a hour and half. That would make the story flow, instead of moving too fast like it is.

    Breakout Kings Season 1 - 4/5

Fantastic. Recently added to Netflix instant view. Heard it was something of a Prison Break spin-off/sequel series so I had to check it out. It's not really, it's just set in the same universe with a character crossover every now and then.

But it's still pretty amazing. The rotating cast at the beginning was fairly annoying, but it quickly became awesome.
Oh and guess which episode was my favorite. ^_^

    The Hunger Games 9/10

I'm a big fan of the books, and although there was some stuff cut out that I wish hadn't been, it was really entertaining and really well acted.

    Rango - 9.5/10

Wow, this movie was much better than I expected. A friend recommended this movie to me, and lucky for me it was on Netflix. This movie was amazing, the animation was great, and the writing was even better. It had a lot of references and in-depth jokes for a kid's movie, which was really surprising. This is one of those movies that appeal to all audiences, young and old. The voice acting was great, Depp does a great job with the character, and so do the others. My only problem was that at times the movie was getting really slow and boring, but that was very minor. Overall, this was an great movie, and I highly recommend it. It's probably one of my favorite animated movies.
