I can sort of relate, as Alex seems like a super-ultra-extreme version of some of the anger issues I have dealt with in the past, and the technique represents medication to suppress the anger, and once you revert back to your normal state, the medication has worn off, and it is time for another dose. However that is just my interpretation of the film.
I have seen The Shining, which is also a classic in my eyes, however it has been a long time since I have seen the film, and I do plan on watching it again soon. I have read the novel it is based on, but again, it was such a long time ago. As said about the movie, I do plan on reading the book again, either when my local library gets it in again, or by buying it myself.
