I've had some good experiences with old consoles, Amigas, Genesis, Master Systems, first GameBoys etc... But although they were great at the time, they are still obsolete to the newer generation consoles, however much you may like them - so this poll isn't really a fair poll from the start, as there's a blend of different ages. So quit your yappins and just vote for what you think is 'the best system ever'.

Joeseye is right, this poll was doomed from the start.
If we're talking about the "best system EVER made" then no doubt, the PS3 would be way ahead in the lead with Xbox 360 coming in 2nd place. At the end of the day, people are just voting for whatever console they have had the fondest memories with. I had brilliant memories with the Sega Megadrive and that's why it gets my vote. If other people had their best memories with an Xbox 360 or a PS3, why are people saying it is 'unfair' for them to vote for their choices?

I thought that you thought the 360 was better than the ps3?

I MUCH prefer the Xbox 360 to the PS3, but I cant deny that the PS3 is the better, and ultimately the more powerful, console.

More powerful yes. But better? Better as in better games, better online service? No and no.

The only better thing about the ps3 is the hardware.

Above is IMO, I understand it is not fact blah blah blah.

Games are subjective, I prefer the PS3s line up tbh. The only 360 games that interest me are Fable II and L4D, which the latter I have on PC. Gears of War and Halo aren't for me, methinks.

    (^ I think I may have said that before, I can't remember)

I favor the PS2. There's a good reason why it still sells well, and it has still been my most used console this generation.

the reason ps2 stll sells well is because its a decent system at a very good price, gamecube was better IMO but the game selection was very limited.

My all-time favourite always will be the Nintendo 64, second the GameCube and third the PS3.

I've got to admit, the GameCube never got enough love. I didn't mind the limited line-up because many of the games were so satisfying.

Some Wii owners who aren't specsavy don't know that the wii can play gamecube games. Hell some don't even know what a gamecube is, which is upsetting since the Gamecube has a better library of games IMO.

Plus, the gamecube would have had a better edge in the sixth generation if Nintendo allowed the use of DVDs instead of MiniDVDs.

The gamecube has a better processing unit and graphics unit than the PS2 had. The gamecube would have been the second most powerful home console (behind the Xbox) if the gamecube had the same disc storage as the Xbox and PS2.

The two console's DVDs can hold up to either 4.7 GB or 8.5 GB if they are dual layered. The Gamecube's MiniDVD can only hold 1.5 GB. That's a pretty big difference. The reason why Nintendo refused to use the larger and better DVDs is because they feared that the gamecube is more prone to pirating if they stuck with the DVDs, which of course, did not stop the hackers, and left the issue of limited storage, just like how the N64 failed to capture the developers due to the expenses of making a game in a cartridge dispite their limited storage. Most N64 games had less than 64MB, while the Playstation's CD-Roms can hold up to 700MB.
