Woot?
You just can't make up names that bad... but still, it's Gold and Silver...do we still care? I think so. Not sure that I do, but I'm sure most of you do. (I never really liked Gold and Silver) *duck-rolls behind flame shield*
D:
Why would you do that!?
Kotaku.
Agreed. Who cares? Just realize that no one will take a box with that subtitle seriously :P.
Well, which games do you prefer then?
Also, rendered logos for the person that needs to have the first box on the site with the proper title.
I understand the heart in the Gold logo, but is that what my soul is supposed to look like?

Pretty bad names, but can't wait.
Pokemon Silver/gold was my favorite, I got it for Christmas one year, but I stole it from under the tree was playing weeks before I was meant to get it. Also loved it because it has the twice the gyms because of the two regions, but hopefully the Safari zone won't be shut down in this one.
AND I JUST PLAYED THROUGH NEARLY FORTY HOURS OF GOLD VERSION RECENTLY AND THAT FINAL RED FIGHT IS SUCH A BI--
oh, This is a good updateI love Gold/Silver version

I think they're awesome names [and logos] personally, and they drift away from the literal names the series has used to date too.
I'm personally hoping that:
1) It's generally harder than it was before, the Gym and E4 Levels need to be brought up.
2) That Johto itself is expanded with new content [i.e. not just with Contest Halls, GTS Centre, Battle Frontiers and other Gen III/IV standard features]
3) That Celebi is FINALLY obtainable for the European version as well as the others [seriously it was the only Event pokemon never given out over here], it'd be nice to get a legit one for a change, Nintendo...
I actually like the names, but besides that YES IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS <3
I think Nintendo's going to pull an asshole move and cut Kanto from these remakes, seeing as how they just remade it. If I was a level designer, and after spending 2 years remaking Red and Green from the ground up, I was told I had to do it again (because of bigger sprites in DS Pokemon games and such), I'd be pretty pissed off (though I guess they could just get new level designers...). It would also save them development time.
Meh, maybe I'm thinking too far into this. Thoughts?
Also, more information will be revealed on the Pokemon Sunday show this...Sunday.
These were the best Pokemon games. I put in so many hours in Silver.
above the clouds.
I'm still waiting for, Pokemon: Electric Yellow Version.
Here's my take on it:
Pokemon Gold and Silver were very revolutionary for the series at the time of their release. They created the ideas of:
Pokemon Genders
Pokemon Breeding
Pokemon Eggs
The VS Seeker
Changing time
Two new, amazing Types
100 new Pokemon in each game,
Each version having a Legendary of its own
More HM moves
Etc.
HOWEVER... it is my belief that people think so highly of Gold and Silver because it was very, very long. But the reason for this was because Kanto was included in the story. If you strip down Gold and Silver to the Johto story, it's very basic. And sure, it was revolutionary at the time, but look at what Diamond/Pearl/Platinum did to take all of those ideas even further! Gold and Silver were great for their time, but they're not revolutionary anymore... their ideas are now standard. And I'm afraid that, once people play the game again, they will realize that it's just not as great as they remember. Sure, it will be really badass to have Lugia and Ho-Oh again, but as far as being an epic Pokemon adventure, Diamond and Pearl, and especially Platinum, have it beaten.
For me, for Soul Silver and Heart Gold to REALLY bring back the memories, they need to make these games revolutionize AGAIN. Here's what I hope for:
New Daylight System!: No longer will day and night be limited to five changing color tones. With the new system, Daylight comes and goes in a 24 hour, smoothly changing system that is also affected by the weather.
Improved Weather System!: Seasons change and weather occurs randomly! Weather-effecting moves can now be used outside of battle, in order to prepare for battle or just change the current weather system! Be prepared for anything, from sunny days, fog, and wind conditions, to hurricanes, tornadoes, or even floods!
Mobile Shopping!: Once you acquire the Mobile Store App for your Poketch, you can shop from any level of the Department Store wirelessly, no matter where you are currently, as long as you have a strong signal for the App (i.e., not in a cave, on top of a mountain, underwater, etc.) The Department Store will automatically sent your order to you as soon as you order it, day or night, by Pokemon delivery.
New Breeding System!: Tired of carrying those Pokemon eggs around? Up to five of them can be placed in the Pokemon Breeder's Egg Incubator, where they will hatch while you carry on your other duties!
The Poke-Phone Returns!: Want to know if your friends are online? Impossible, right? Not with the Poke-Phone! Your Poke-Phone will allow you to send a battle, trade, or talk invite to any friend that is currently online in their game, and will automatically teleport both of you to the last Pokemon Center you visited if you decide to battle, while allowing you to talk OR trade Pokemon no matter where you are.
New Baby Pokemon Area!: Finding it impossible to make your baby Pokemon happy? Can't seem to get them to evolve? Put them in the new Baby Pokemon Day Care to let them play with other Pokemon and watch their happiness grow before your eyes!
Organization Matters!: You now how more customization options and control over your PC Boxes than ever before! Your PC can automatically organize your Pokemon by Type, Date Caught, Family, Pokedex Number, or Level.
Markings!: Pokemon are now more unique than ever! Markings, spots, color-patterns, and other distinctive features can change from Pokemon to Pokemon, making nearly every Pokemon you catch unique and different from any other! What does this mean for you? You can finally catch that black Charizard... in the wild.
Just a few ideas I've been really, really hoping to see in Pokemon. I have many more, but these would be the easiest to integrate and the most relevant to these games.
