I can play both Guitar and Bass, bass is probably more fun as you can make a fair bit of it up plus majority of bass is pretty repetitive and easy. Been playing guitar for years now, probably close to ten, but i only really play stuff that i like, RATM, Tool, Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Eyehategod, Pantera, Metallica, Sepultura, Wolfmother, Grinspoon (fucking awesome Aussie band), the list goes on.

Actually, i could play almost every song by Rage Against The Machine at one stage, which i was quite proud of (Morello's style is a bit tricky at times). Was a dedicated metal head for years (even had the long hair!) and i played bass in a cover-style band for a few months. Only played a few parties, but fuck it was fun! I have a lot of friends who work in or around the music industry, a few mates in bands and what not so its not as if i'm not around it.

Now i really only play for some enjoyment, for a jam, or just to rip a few tracks out on the old axe. Would have been nice to be a rockstar, but i fear my personality is a bit addictive for that lifestyle!

Nothing pains me quite as much as seeing how many users here are into metal/hard rock.

I know some basic stuff. Some chords here, some plucking there. Nothing special, though.

I know some Decemberists, Neutral Milk Hotel, Weezer, They Might Be Giants, and a few miscellaneous songs here and there.
