Default Check out what I just scored at a thrift store...

Five bucks, includes jewel case, instruction booklet, all in perfect, pristine condition. The disc is spotless.

I'm probably going to make a cover for it pretty soon along with plenty of my other older games for proper display.

I take it you were as happy as I was when I found Resi 2, Silent Hill, and Tomb Raider in a second hand shop for 10 dollars each.

    ALL DISCS SPOTLESS

Never heard of it, im 19, but i'll assume it was before my time.

    :P

Why were you in a thrift store?

It probably wasn't that far before your time. I'm only twenty-three. You were probably around ten years old when it was around. Maybe younger by a year or two.

It was a great game. One-on-one samurai battles where attacking a leg or arm meant that your opponent couldn't use that limb any more and attacking vital areas of the body meant a one-hit-kill. There were beautiful environments like stone streets with falling cherry blossoms, or the typical bamboo forest (slashing the bamboo around you would cause it to collapse.)

You could throw dirt in your opponents face to stun them, or attack them from behind, or use a throwing knife to kill them, but it would break the Bushido code and thus would get you a dishonerable victory.

Such a sweet game. They might have gameplay videos on youtube.

Also, I was in a thrift store specifically to look for older games, toys, etc. Any kind of unappreciated treasure.

Oh yeah i remember this game.

    It was awesome!

Quite ahead for its time in my opinion. Such a different and realistic weapons based fighting game, the survival mode was incredibly intense! The limb damage system was pure genius. I share your enthusiasm, its the sort of game that you buy and never sell. If you ever get a chance to play it Shady don't turn it down, its definatly an origional game.

I heard they made a sequal and it never got realesed outside of Japan, anyone know if it was any good?

Anyway, i look forward to you Bushido Blade cover soon TheSlyder!

They did make a sequal and it was released in the US.

Unfortunately while the first game was realistic and artful, the sequal was much more stylized and anime inspired (Not in a good way.) so you had characters with awkward armor or clothing, giant swords, guns, etc. It had a huge roster, but it just didn't have that samurai battle feel the first game had.

It was still fun, though. Even if it was a lesser game.

Anyway, that's really nice. I gave up looking for that game along with other past squaresoft games (legend of mana, saga frontier, threads of fate etc...)

But hey, atleast I can still get them on ebay.

God I always wanted to find a good game like that or Silent Hill at a thrift store (I go to Goodwill lol) but the only decent game I ever found was SoulCalibur for Dreamcast, in perfect condition for like 5 bucks

Are you kidding? Thrift stores are good places to find out of make games and old collectables!
On many ocassions I've spotted plenty of old gaming merchandise in those stores, like a Genesis that was BEUTIFUL, seriously, it was in crisp perfect condition, and it had with it easily 30 different games. And was like 30 bucks...

Seriously, you can find some awesome junk round those parts.

A thrift store is a place where people donate clothing, toys, games, etc. and people can buy them for a low (REEAALLY) price.

If you haven't noticed, TheSlyder made a typo in the title, spelling "thrift store" as "thirft store".

I did. Which is weird, you were the last person I expected to make a spelling mistake on a thread title.

I had to edit a lot of thread titles over the past week come to think of it. Take more care when making thread titles guys - unlike the actual post, it can't be edited without mods or admins once you create it.

Thanks. It's a pretty rare occurrence. I watch the screen as I type, so I usually catch all of my typos.
