The Question and Answer Thread

I was looking through the forums and I noticed we have a lot of question threads. I counted them and there are over sixty.

So thus I made the Question and Answer Thread. The sole purpose of this thread is for any user to be able to ask a quick question about anything, most likely box arts, and have a user that knows the answer be able to respond.

So I will start off the questions with this.

What are some good tools in GIMP to use when rendering?

The pen tool (or is that only photoshop?) or the polygonal lasso tool.

Only use the magic wand if solid color background.

The reviews have been pretty consistent. 7/10. So I guess it is okay.

My laptop's been acting up recently. It has trouble booting, sometimes getting stuck in some sort of eternal spiral of despair failing to load Windows. Once it does load Windows, the boot speed seems to be normal. So I think it is not a Windows problem but a BIOS problem. Incidentally, I got myself a new external 1TB HDD (930GB to be more accurate, since the HDD manufacturers rip off consumers by using the 1KB=1000B pseudomath) and the acting up began around that time. I tried booting my computer without having the HDD plugged in and it did boot just as planned. Furthermore, I checked my BIOS settings and the HDD seems to be identified properly. I know I should ask this in a proper tech support forum, but I might just as well try my luck here first. Why does my HDD cause my computer to act up like this?
