Could someone please make a tutorial of making a box for gimp just like they did for paint.net because everyone says gimp is so good but I've spent a good 2 hours on it today and I just cant work it out. PLEASE!!!

2 hours is nothing :-\
You shouldn't just start making a box, just familiarize yourself with the program first. This goes for any program really, you should learn before trying to do a specific thing.
