    Default Describe Your Music Library

    Something I thought of.

    Just answer these:

    1. What kind of music do you listen to? (Favorite genre, etc.)
    2. Are you a:
-Mainstream listener? You don't care as long as it's on the charts.
-Finder of hidden gems? You like the undiscovered artists that seemingly no one knows about.
-Follower? You follow an artist, have all of their albums, singles, b-sides, etc. You could almost call yourself part of a cult.
-Oldies fan. You pretty much only listen to artists from 20 years ago.
-Local listener? You like supporting your friends and the local scene.
      -Underground listener? 'Nuff said.
-Music junky? You know everything about every artist. You know all the trivia, and can beat anybody in a music quiz.
    3. Your library contains:
-A few songs, only the ones you really like.
-Some songs. A lot of albums, a few bands, you know.
-A lot. You listen to a wide range of music and like to have full albums, duplicates, single versions, etc.
-Too many. Face it, you don't even like some of the songs on there

    I would have to say...
1: Nu and heavy metal, a little bit of extreme-er stuff.
    2: I guess I'm a follower of a few bands
    3: A lot.

    1. Classic Rock, acoustic, alternative, some punk (not a lot, just stuff like The Offspring), some pop. Rap and R&B when it's actually good (not too often =p), Funk rock, etc, etc. Pretty much if it sounds good I'll listen to it. I like some metal, like KMFDM (technically metal). Eagles of Death Metal are not metal. Nor do they try to be. But I like them =p

    2. Doesn't matter at all. Anyone who listens to music simply because it's on the charts (or doesn't listen to it because of that reason) is a fool. For example, I love Weezer and I like Green Day, but Rilo Kiley is one of my favorite bands (not exactly unknown but not like...MTV topping charts). Also love some classic Beatles, Guns n Roses (so far, Chinese Democracy is an epic disapointment). Iggy Pop is win. I also don't give a shit about the info of the bands - like what Jenny Lewis named her cat. It's useless info, I care about the music. I also find Nirvana incredibly overrated. I can listen to them but meh. Foo Fighters are better =p MGMT is alright.

    3. Usually a lot, not at the moment as I am on a spare computer from my Dad's office. Only around 150 songs right now.

Let me also add that Queens of the Stone Age is win.

    1. I listen to country music mostly, with a bit of bluegrass thrown in. I also listen to a bit of classic rock on the side, mainly U2 and Oasis, but a few classics thrown in. You might find a bit of Nickelback in there somewhere, and a nice helping of Flogging Molly for good measure.

    2. You could call me a devoted follower of the country singer Brad Paisley (I have all of his albums), and also U2 (I don't have any of their albums, but I have almost every famous song from them).

    3. My country library is fairly mixed. I don't usually buy albums, because my taste in music is so strange. I mainly wait until I hear a song and like it, and then download it. So I end up with a library of a lot of single songs by a lot of different artists, and maybe one or two full albums. You'll find a lot of mixed music... anything from Alan Jackson to Red Hot Chili Peppers to The Eagles to Stevie Ray Vaughan.

    1. Many different types of metal, but a lot of my favorite stuff in there isn't metal at all. Also, No -core or nu-, none.

    2. I am a follower of my favorite bands, especially anything by Marilyn Manson or Twiggy Ramirez. Also, pretty much everything else you listed but local listener and mainstream, I don't listen to any of the local bands here and I don't listen to the radio at all.

I'm definitely a finder of hidden gems, stuff like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum or The Axis of Perdition = YES. :3

    3. Gotta have the WHOLE album, not a single stray song in my library.

    1. Most subcategories of rock. Includes Heavy Metal (Iron Maiden, Disturbed) Thrash Metal (Metallica, Slayer) Punk Rock (Sex Pistols, Rise Against) Funk Rock (RATM, RHCP), Metalcore (Killswitch Engage, All That Remains), Classic Rock (U2, The Who), Nu Metal (Korn, Linkin Park), Grunge (Nirvana, Pearl Jam), and Alternative Rock/Metal (Smashing Pumpkins, Breaking Benjamin, Puddle of Mudd)

    2. I listen to whatever I like the sound of. Basically, most of my stuff is at least somewhat mainstream because that's where I hear them. It's simple logic.

    3. A lot, I find an artist I like and download a whole bunch of songs by them.
