There was a thread about underrated games much earlier in the year, but I don't really mind a new thread since it's been so long.
I'm going to go for FFIX, as I usually bring up on forums.

Spy VS. Spy was MAJORLY underrated. I love that game almost as much as I do my favorite, SA2B

Raze's Hell. It was a fun game, it was bright and colorful, and also dark and grim, and very gory, it was down right fun

MGS Portable Ops. Everyone just leaves it just cause it's on a handheld but it's just as good as the MGS on the consoles

Pokemon. Yes, it is hugely popular, but many people write it off as being too "cute", but it is a surprisingly deep RPG, and one of the only RPG's that I will play.
Also, Animal Crossing is really fun. It kinda gets boring after a year, after everything that happens, but if you play this game for an hour, half an hour every day, you will never bore of it.

Excite Truck- An extremley fun racing game that's a blast with friends. Everyone sorta thought how it was stupid to use stars to get into first if you got second place anyway, but it really challenged you.
Pure- An extremley fun racing game that's a blast with friends. Not that anyone didntlike this, just no one LOVED it.

When I think of underrated games, what comes to mind is these 5 games:
Earthbound - A SNES cult classic; a funny and charming RPG
Final Fantasy IX - A great FF game on the PS1; Great story and more in common with the SNES/NES FFs.
Jet Force Gemini - Great N64 Rare game; A third person shooter that's good for it's time.
Psychonauts - A cult classic on the PS2/Xbox/PC; a good platformer with witty humor.
