Yeah I know what you're talking about. That Bytd event happened a few months before I joined but I read the whole thing. Honestly it was just a simple misunderstanding and then it seemed that everyone was too prideful to admit they were wrong. But I do agree the term elitist does not go over well in this community and should be refrained from being referred to in this committee. My apologies.

And I don't care about my profile page. :P

I know. I was just saying that because I bet some people are going to claim that it's being elitist because we are getting voted into this "committee". They will also probably be the ones who are jealous they didn't get nominated.

Personally, I don't have any bad connotations towards the elitist term. I mean really isn't that what this whole site is sort of based on. We have different levels of members (veterans, the above average artists, the average folk, the kinda annoying people who never improve, and the complete trolls.) Our ages are represented by the date we joined the site. And the whole rank system only helped to establish the whole elite model more concretely. But I say embrace it. I find it funny how some people who are respected as gods on this site probably wouldn't even see the light of day in the real world, whereas many respectable people in real life don't get noticed simply because the don't participate enough on the forums. We have elitists in the real world, why not here too.

Haha, why thanks. I think our competition section is one the most drawing things on the site. But even in the short year and a half I've been on the site I've only seen a handful of successful competitions and have been seeing them only get progressively worse. I think I got what it takes to be part of this elite committee. I'm currently hosting my fourth competition that had near fifty people sign up. It's the VGBA Olympics. You should check it out.

I think you should start working on a Committee Nomination Thread. With this idea, we could really bring back the spirit of the Competition Section.
