well yeah, they are, but youre new, again, you wont be a great artist for a while, i mean look at my old stuff, it sucks!

I think I know how to do this. Sorry if it doesn't work though, is the image a render or a background?

If it's a render: Make a new layer filled with white and put it behind the render. Then, merge the render down into that layer. Then grab the fuzzy select (magic wand) tool and select feather edges (choose the number depending on how much you want it to fade), select the white and wait until there is a line around the render. Then cut the selected area and it should fade. Sorry if it doesn't work for you, or you don't understand me

To just fade out from a side of an image. Use the rectangular select tool, change the settings to feather edges (100%), after that select the area you wish to fade out. Then just keep doing it until it looks good

Is that what kind of fading you meant, or all the way around the image?
