Welcome to the Musicians of VGBA! I play guitar, bass guitar, piano/keyboards and alto saxophone. How about you?
I can play clarinet... But I do some meh-ish remixes...
Bass Guitarist right here, can play a little guitar, but I prefer Bass Want to learn Piano though, but not sure how to get into it... Was in a band, but I left because I want to progress on my own and then join/create a band when i'm ready. Been playing since February.
@Dynamic: Awesome, I've always wanted to learn to play bass guitar.
@HalfSwiss: It's pretty easy to pick up man, i'd say easier than guitar because for a lot of songs you will learn, you are using single strings, so strumming patterns is easier, however i'd probably say it is harder to master than guitar, just my opinion though, i'm sure a guitarist would say the same thing about their instrument, who knows.
I play Drums, and some Guitar. I'm currently drumming in a band as well.
@Dynamic, Yes. you're right, i'm a bass playar/guitarist, and i must say it's harder to master the guitar than it is to master the bass. I mean, ofcourse, you can always improve, but talking about ...let's say being a stage-worthy bass/guitarist, guitar is alot harder to manage. I mean, you've got your barre chords, slash chords, solo patterns, arpeggio's,fills etc. With a bass guitar you're going to need single-string notes[root notes] the most, and maybe use a bit of slapping/popping and maybe some 2-stringed fills or sequences. Technique-wise, guitar is alot harder. Believe me,i play both. I play in a band, lead-guitar,second vocals. We play American-styled [soft]rock with Dutch lyrics,in which i write alot of songs. I'm also starting another band, for more rock/metal-based music, in which i'll be doing the exact same thing[leadguitar, second vocals].
I play bass. I play trumpet some, also.
Piano for eleven years, Viola for seven years, Bass/Guitar for two years.
Viola for seven years, Guitar for a year. @stevencho, *high-five*
