We haven't had an official summer competition since like 2010 or something, so here.



Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to The Official 2013 Summer Competition, hosted by that guy everyone loves, RONTHIS. Anywho, this competition is based on one that Cho made a few years ago. And, in honor of that competition, the rules will be pretty much the same. ALSO, there will be a brand new addition to this, and it combines an old annual thing that we used to do. Specific details below.



1.) Register for the competition by commenting that you want to sign up. Also, there will be another thing to do when signing up, but lets talk about that later. Signups end on June 21st, and the 'Round One' thread will be posted soon after.

2.) Once enough people sign up, they will be paired up in traditional bracket form according to skill level.

3.) After the pairing, the 'Round One' thread will be posted with a poll that has 3 different themes on it, and users then decide on what theme they want to see for the next round.

4.) Once the pairings are posted, the competition immediately starts, and each user will be given 10 days to create their boxes according to the theme

5.) After the 10 days, each pair of participant's boxes will be posted in their respective threads.

6.) Once all pairs have been voted on, and winners are decided, all winners move on to the next round, and all losers are eliminated. Then, after that, the 'Round Two' thread will be made, following the exact same rules as the last. Users will also be repaired with other competitors, and a new set of 3 themes will be voted on.

8.) Once round two is over, round three begins (with 3 themes, just like 1 and 2), and as soon as that ends, the semi-finals begin (also with 3 themes). The semi-finals will have 4 users competing, and the two losers will then have the option to compete against each other for third and fourth place. After that, the finals begin.

42.) The two finalists then go against each other for the title of KING! (or the guy who won the summer comp. king sounds cooler though) However, there will be no themes for the finals. Just a traditional box-off. Once the match is over, that ends The Official 2013 Summer Competition.

9001.) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will all be rewarded with badges for winning, and bragging rights.



Each pair of participant's boxes will be posted in their respective threads, leaving it up to you guys to vote for which box is the best. Whichever box receives 7 votes first wins, and proceeds to the next round. And sadly, the user with the least amount of votes will be eliminated.



So, you ready to enter? Well guess what, there's still one more thing left to do after saying "Sign me up, sexy." or whatever. For this competition, all participants MUST add sunglasses to their avatar, in honor of summer time. Okay, maybe not MUST, like you won't get disqualified or anything, but everyone will hate you if you don't so just do the right thing.

Rules:

- The current competition, due to public demand, will have users being able to submit boxes starting now. Due to this, however, only a maximum of ten boxes per user will be eligible for submission.
- The competition will be open until 7:00 AM EST July 31. I WILL accept entries given 24 hours after the due date, but those boxes will be given a twenty point deficit.
- Collabs are allowed. You, however, WILL be judged for you and your partner's boxes. Sorry tomB.
- Leaderboards will be updated weekly on the Saturday after the first box posted/PM'd.
- ALL PM'd boxes given will be posted in the thread with your username.
- Judges, REMAIN ANONYMOUS if you want to judge. PM me if you wish to judge.

Judging:

ALL ITEMS LISTED ARE BASED ON A TEN-POINT SCALE

- Presentation. Because all boxes can be ruined by a sloppy presentation.
- Noticeable Effort. Nobody wants to be beaten by a simple wallpaper with a logo, right?
- Original Design. Who actually likes generic boxes?
- Staying True to the Original Content. Nobody wants misleading advertising.
- Relative to Theme. For reasons.
- Actual Box. For reasons.

Themes:

ONE BOX PER THEME (EXCEPT FREE-FORM. TEN TIMES MAX.)

- Swerve? Swerve. Boxes under this theme have to have a circular theme.
- I don't want to live like this... Boxes under this theme have SOME form of sadness.
- <PUNCH N JAB> Boxes under this theme have to have SOME form of action.
- Now THAT'S what I call EDGY! Boxes under this theme have to have SOME form of badass-ery.
- I just LOVE summer! Boxes under this theme have to have SOME form of summer theme. Because fuck you Martiniii, I like the somer.
- Color me colored! Boxes under this theme have to have a single color scheme.
- How funny... Boxes under this theme have to have humor. This theme STILL falls under the category of judging.
- Free Form! Boxes under this category can do whatever the fuck they want.
