Hey, thought you might be interested in seeing a Sly 4 teaser trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfjDU...layer_embedded
Rock, and I guess that's it. That's not to say I am biased or ONLY like rock, but those are the ones I mainly listen to. Like, I appreciate other things, and will definitely include some, but rock and metal is my forte'. I'd rather just include a bunch and spare people the explanations. I want to keep non-album discussion to a minimum.
You could put at the beginning of the post something like, "Each post will have a specific genre, I am not biased to any of the genres. Today's genre is ___________" What genres are you into apart from metal?
Yeah I guess so, although I usually end up thinking of ideas as I come along. Everything from actual albums to include to lines and analogies and stuff I could use to describe them. When I wrote the first one I didn't really have anything in mind, I just picked the first five that came to mind. For the second one, after choosing the Fear Factory album I looked a bit more at 90's metal and extreme metal and chose the others. I suppose it's a good idea to make each post dedicated to a genre, but a problem with that is that it makes me look biased. Someone might click on a blog post and end up looking at part 6 or something, and think "Oh, this guy just likes metal. Pass." True, I AM primarily a metal fan, but I don't want people to think I'm ignorant.
I see. If you're interested in music reccomendations from me...unblock me on msn :P Also, maybe do a specific genre in each post? Although, you'd probably have more posts dedicated to some genres than others. I just think it would be easier if each post (I say post, you know what I mean) had a specific genre.
I will include some like OK Computer and the odd hip-hop one. I'll obviously have to listen to them a bit more (to say what's good and bad about them). You see things like that take a lot of time, so I'm starting off with the ones I've already listened to before. Plus, the point of the blog is to inform and persuade. For non-metal fans especially, it's basically saying what albums you should check out. Of course, there are better beginner albums than Demigod, but that was the album that helped me get into extreme metal, and it's a favourite with death metal fans so that's why I included it. So over time I'm going to include some other types of music. As you can see, the second part was dedicated more towards extreme metal. Oh, and I can't remember. Probably because you were pissing me off.
Well then I don't think it's a justified album. Albums like "Nevermind" by Nirvana or "OK Computer" by Radiohead or "Dummy" by Portishead etc may not be to your tastes but they are pioneers of modern music. By the way, why did you block me on msn? It would be easier to talk about shit like this on there.
I'm going to include other albums as I go along. Generally they will be ones I like with a few exceptions. I've only done two parts, so be patient. Also White Pony is a pretty mellow album except like two songs.
