Deus Ex is near unparalleled in terms of PC gaming. The graphics have shown their age, but gameplay mechanics hold up quite well in comparison to todays standards, and it remains one of my favorite FPS games (alongside the Half-Life series). Now would be a good time to play it, since Human Revolution - which looks godly, by the way - comes out next week.

As for what it's about, it's essentially an FPS/RPG hybrid. It's not your standard, generic shooter game by any means.

Again I come back to ask you about classic game recommendations, this one a little older than the last question I asked: Deus Ex. I plan ok getting the original on the pc. Can you tell me what this game is about and your opinion on it?

I never played the original, but the only thing that's different I from what I found so far is the textures really look hi res, like they were redone, and the codes are different from the original.

It's pretty awesome. The best $10 I have, and probably will have ever spent, I haven't finished it but I can see why you and fans want a sequel.
