Eh, it's ok... I'll admit RB2's got a better tracklist... but in WT (and GH3) you can download Metallica's new album, which is pretty cool. Also you can play as Billy Corgan and Jimi Hendrix. In the Wii version you can use your Miis which i'm looking forward to. But why did they have to put BYOB... it's not that great, and it's got a lot of swearing which you can't just hide beneath the riffs. Since it's in RB1 (albeit as DLC) why couldn't they put Toxicity or Chop Suey in WT instead? Eh, doesn't matter. The game's still gonna be awsome.

YAY! "In The End" is one of my alltime favorite songs!

And I love "Rooftops."

This game is on the 360, right?
Cuz I was thinking about getting it for that.

Though I'm still curious as to how they're censoring that Blink-182 song...

Yeah i'm a bit dissapointed to be honest, I don't like how some bands have two songs (and What I've Done sucks, srsly. This is coming from someone who reasonably enjoyed Hybrid Theory) and I've never heard of like, 60% of those bands. They said there would be a Korn song in the game, too... and for the love of god, Activision, give us a Breaking Benjamin song already. Even if it's DLC, I don't care which one.

they added some new stuff like tapping to the guitar. if you can see well enough in this pic (http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/883/883120/guitar-hero-world-tour-20080620105718987.jpg).

And yes, it will be compatible with Rock Band Stuff. the PS3 version will be compatible with RB2 stuff also.

Yeah, except for the Wii Version, that will not be compatible. But y'know why, guys? Its Actually HARMONIX' fault!

"Basically on the Wii... GH3 followed Nintendo's guidelines about all third party controllers had to use the Wii mote. So GH3 did, and so did GHWT.. But RB somehow did not, and therefore they are not compatible with us.

"Nothing we could do on this one, I don't know how HMX was able to bend the rules but they seemed to do so and here we are." -- N-Europe

Will the WT be compatible with a GHIII guitar?
Wiki says yes.
"New instrument controllers are not required to play World Tour. Older Guitar Hero guitar controllers will still work with the game."
However, I do not know whether they're talking about the Bass/Rythm guitar, or the lead...

Ratchetcomand

It would obliterate WT if it wasn't for EA and Microsoft screwing every non-american/non-xbox owner in the universe.

Motorhead are in the game, you can play the song "Overkill". Unfortunately, I don't think Lemmy will be in the game as a playable character, which is a great shame. I hope they have the new album (Motorizer, which is amazing) available for download. Here's a video of The Road Crew performing Overkill for the game.

Yeah, World Tour pwns Rock Band in Europe and for all Wii owners.

And if you want a song in so desperatly, either hope it'll be Downloadable content, or memorise it so well that you could make it in the Song creation mode.

On the topic of Downloadable content, I hope GH decide to put in a Nintendo Related game's music, like they did with GH3 and putting Halo on for the 360 version. Maybe No More Heroes' Ten Tons of Titanium song or just the regular theme, or the one that plays at the start.

I only like one deathcore band, and that's the Acacia Strain... They would a miserable addition to a music game anyway. Their singer sounds like Cookie Monster and their guitars are downtuned to the point of absurdity. I however enjoy listening to their music, but Acacia Strain songs would not be fun to play, and that's a fact.

I would, however, like to see more technical/progressive metal bands get the nod. I'd love to play some BTBAM, Protest the Hero, or Human Abstract instead of horseshit like Linkin Park and Flo Rida.

If you think about it. Pretty much any song evar is available for GH:WT minus the lyrics. Just look up the song name in that Guitar Hero Tunes thing, and then veiw by best rated. There are going to be SO MANY songs, it'll be hard not to find what your looking for. Also people who make really good songs that are highly rated get the privllige to post as many as they want. So they're going to do a service to the game, and make some good ass fucking songs. Just watch... you'll see.

Oh, also yes, guitar hero will be compatible with anything. You can even use the rockband drums. It takes off a note strip from the screen when your using it, because the RB drums only have four pads. Cool huh?

VERDICT!

Alright, so I played it for a couple hours yesterday at my friends house. Gonna talk about ze gameplay, the instruments, and compare it to Rock Band 2

Guitar:
Now we all know GH3 had some blistering songs that were just irritating to play and gave you hand cramps. GHWT has some pretty hard songs, but they're actually fun to play. I wasn't yelling in extreme shock and anger at the 80 notes that flew past the bar. I was hitting some big hammer-ons and actually enjoying it. They widened the gap for hitting notes, which takes away a little difficulty, but it's fun nonetheless. Nothing's really changed on the guitar's gameplay really it's classic Guitar Hero awesomeness. The guitar is really nice to, the strum bar is like a combination of GH3's clicky stiff strum bar, and Rock Band 1's (haven't tried RB2's guitar) mushy quiet one. The whole star power bar right under the strum bar is cool to. The touch sensitive buttons are a cool addition, you can only use them on notes strung by purple lines though and you get lost easily with it. Honestly, I prefer the note charts, and instrument for GHWT's guitar over Rock Band's
Bass: Same thing really, only new thing I saw was that you had open notes, where you don't hold any buttons, just strum on the beat.

Drums:
Alright so the snazzy new drum set is nice, but there are some flaws.
First thing I'd like to say about the drums, they have rebound on the 3 pads. When you hit an RB drum it just kinda hits the pad and stops, and you gotta raise your arm and bring it down again. But with the GHWT drums it snaps right back up, drum rolls on the pads are sooo fun. Now, the cymbals are cool and a nice touch and all, but they're not always responsive causing you to miss notes, another thing is when you're switching from red pad to yellow cymbal, you have a chance of getting stuck under the cymbal and then missing notes while you get back on track from the blunder. Which leads me to my next little irritation. Now, if you've gotten used to the Rock Band drums, where it's just 4 pads across, you're going to be messed up on the GHWT drums, you have an extra pad to hit, and it goes across the note chart (left to right) pad, cymbal, pad, cymbal, pad. and that get's very confusing. But you do get used to it eventually. Now you can probably get around these little flaws, but the most irritating thing in the drums is the bass pedal, you only press it down like 5 cm and it's made of this flimsy rubber/plastic material it feels like it's about to snap if you even think of stomping down on it. I dun like it. and the bass pedal note is a faint purple color it's kinda hard to see. The last two things that bother me are activating star power (hitting both cymbals simultaneously which can mess you up) and the freestyle fill parts are so quiet you can't hear them over the drum hits, even when you pound on them. (oh and one little thing I liked was you had cymbal notes that were held out by hitting the cymbal over and over again. I like the Rock Band drums better because I'm more used to those, but the GHWT drums are still nice. I'm probably going to get the RB2 drumset and cymbals with GHWT for X-mas.

Vox: Undetermined, didn't try 'em =/

Gameplay/Graphics:
Gameplay is classic Guitar Hero, not much to say really, the band stuff is like Rock Band 2 basically, differences like 2 v 2 guitar battles and band vs band are there, (haha, me and my friend raped these two guys on one song, we won by 200,000 points). Otherwise, it's classic Guitar Hero with some new additions, the music maker could be greatly improved as it's very odd and the songs don't come out too great usually. With the songs you've got some great ones, you've got some boring ones. I played some fun ones such as Scream Aim Fire (Bullet For My Valentine), Misery Business (Paramore), Purple Haze (HENDRIX!), and whatever Dream Theater song was there haha. I do prefer RB2's music though. The graphics are improved, pretty nice. Annndddd that's all that's crossing my mind now, I'll update with vocal verdict and anything else I forgot to add in this.
